I`m considdering several things and after going tru some of the issues about the Lotus 3,5 V8.

It looks like its possible to sort out this.

I have a Lexus 4,0 1uzfe I do considder to use in my Lotus.

But I gess if I go for a Lotus V8 the value of the car vill be higer if gona sell it some time.+its a lotus engine.

Is is possible to get camshafts and other tuning parts to the Lotus V8 engine so its possible to rev it higer?

Do any know if its any engine hardware tuning parts available to the engine internals?

89 Lotus Esprit Turbo S

Very fast road and trackday car.

GT3076R+ a lot of other modifications.

IMHO if you do something to your car that is not original and not easily reversible then it will heavily decrease its value. An engine swap and/or a bodywork change is among the worst.

Please keep in mind that only the very well preserved original examples will be worth anything in future ...

This is true for all vintage cars not only for Lotus.

Rev it higher? Wow. In standard form it's good for 7200 rpm on the limiter. While it was being developed it was found to be able to rev to 8000 without issue but the engineers decided on the lower limit for longevity.

Most people just improve the airflow in and out, be that by using chargecoolers, freeflow cats/exhausts or different turbos. It's not particularly difficult (although a touch expensive) to get a reliable 500bhp from the Lotus V8.

Good good then Its no problem for me to put the Lexus V8 in it.Since my is pretty far from stock now anyway.

And I think only the 300 sport is gona be the colector car anyway since that is the best car they build.Imop.

And also because its the first Esprit that came with a lot of good improvements over normal version (SE)

Anyway my quis is still:

There are not a huge amount of internal engine tuning parts available off-the-shelf.

You can get forged pistons, but crank, rods, camshafts, solid lifters, springs, bearings would all have to be bespoke items.

My personal opinion is that you are unlikely to get good

1996 Esprit V8, 1998 Esprit V8 GT, 1999 Esprit S350 #002 (Esprit GT1 replica project), 1996 Esprit V8 GT1 (chassis 114-001), 1992 Lotus Omega (927E), 1999 Esprit V8SE, 1999 Esprit S350 #032, 1995 Esprit S4s, 1999 Esprit V8 GT (ex-5th Gear project), 1999 Esprit V8SE ('02 rear)

why should this 3.5 V8 turbo rev higher?! (do you want more accelleration?!) You can reach the limiter setting (7400 if it is a GT) only on drag-strip. Under normal circumstances on "the Autobahn" my car reaches (in last gear) only 6500-6800 with a real speed(sat nav info) of 280km/h (Speedo sayes over 290...) . That means you can not kill the engine under "normal" conditions, the gearstep is verry long. But the reaction of trottle position is fast enough in the lower gears after all..

to name the things if I see them, that's what I call integrity..
