mamovaka
I am having a hard time choosing to get the OZ NOVAS and sell my AWI monobloc rims... Tell me which you guys would keep, the AWI monoblocs or get the OZ novas I have upgraded the 99 to have the new rear lights as well as the center exit exhaust.. my questions is do I keep the AWI Monobloc rims (which peoples seem to think are the best) or completely the 2002-2004 look and get the OZ Novas? Opinions?
mwmackenzie
Hmm Sport 350 or saturns are by for in my opinion the best,,, well that's discounting the awesome futura's which are hard to keep as they're split rims...... Gold FFM Günter Posted June 28, 2007 Gold FFM Report Share Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) Pano, what is the reason to convert? (sure you get the latest look, but all the rest of this car is still an old fashioned design...) The OZ-Novas may be lighter, but with your center exhaust you add more whight (longer pipes from outside to the middle, or did i misunderstud something? Have you removed the complete silencer?) I mean it is not important that the awi's a little bit heavier. But they easy to clean... There is not really a effort in losing wight under use of Novas with al the other added stuff... superdavelotus
Novas all the time. It will bring your car bang up-to-date and with the huge step at the rear wheels they look awsome! When I did mine I was in two minds whether to change the wheels but if you don't it always looks odd and not 'in-keeping' with the model and year. I always get comments how the novas look SO impressive at even meeting and event. Like I said I didn't really like them at first but got a good deal from Rob Ellis so I couldn't refuse. They are easier to clean than they look. I've had split rims and they are a bugger to keep clean!
rogue_s1
I've gotta say that the number 1 compliment I get on my S4 is about the Nova's. They were put on by the PO, and I'm very happy with the way they look. Quote 2 X the fun!
2003 V8 TT
Not that this would be of concern to you, since it's not among your choices. But I've heard rumors that the 3-piece OZ Futuras may not clear the larger AP brakes. (But unless you have your Brembos retrofitted to APs, that should be of no concern. Just the factory '99 Sport 350's, and 2000+ models with APs should note.) Also, if you do decide to change your front Brembos to APs, the larger APs will BARELY clear the AWIs, with only 1/4" clearance between the outer body of the calipers to the inside diameter of the AWIs. gmendoza
While the Nova's will complete you updated look, I also love the way the AWI wheels look. I'd say keep the AWI's. Do you have any current pics of the car? PS: To me it seem like the AWI's are also the rarest wheels on the Esprit Quote '03.5 Final Edition Esprit ~ 5.7lbs/hp mildly modded - 430rwhp, 353rwtq

mamovaka
thanks for the input friends.. I guess the reason I posted this question was: if I get the OZ nova's and sell the AWI's I might not be able to go back if my mind changes.. I think I am leaning for the nova's.. I just like the fact that it completes the 2004 esprit look.. still considering.. ahh the choices the choices!.. life is so hard you know?! I think it's funny that I put thought into purchasing clothes or something, but I pay no mind to the 15-20k I've put into the esprit.. in the year I purchased it.. if there is even so much as a scratch on the car I get it resolved... it's sick I tell ya!! but I love it!!! superdavelotus
The Futuras do clear the AP brakes. It was only yesterday when I was at my local Lotus specialist and David Ellis had bought some Futuras and the AP brake kit from the Lotus parts sale. The garage was fitting them and they were fine. His old S4 wheels fitting over the AP brakes too! Dave Walters Not that this would be of concern to you, since it's not among your choices. So in your case I'd go for the Nova's Just my 2 cents Quote - Nulla tenaci invia est via -

fmxa
Just to cloud the issue, buy the Novas and keep the AWI's - best of both worlds and you can swap 'em as you feel like it! Quote Paddle Faster, I hear Banjos!
