Hello Brian, and welcome to the Forum.

The next thing we need to see is pics of your beloved. Either here or throw a few into the Garage area of the forum (top right of screen).

Have a good look around, if you have'nt already done so.

Hope you enjoy. :o

Silver with red interior is the 2nd. best colour combo for a Turbo Esprit :)

Firstly Welcome Brian great choice of car

Secondly sorry to disagree Wayne but Calypso Red & Magnolia Hide Rocks not that I'm bias or anything.

Red is the italian racing colour, hence all the old alfa and fezzas raced in that

colour. The british raced in green, the germans in white (or silver due to unpainted

bodywork), the french in Blue, united states Blue on White, canada Green with

White stripes etc...

See more here: http://www.teammiata.com/libs/race_colors.htm

Such desirable roadgoing Exotica came from italy in it's racing Red, that it

has kinda become the 'default' sportscar colour. Even i have to concede that on

that basis, BRG is probably the best Esprit colour as it goes right back to the early

days and of course the type 11 and 23.

And on that basis, Wayne is correct in applying his ferrari slur to the red, as it is

a nod to their success and desirability that has led to so many people wanting red

sportcars (i wanted my first esprit to be red, and it was!).

Sponsorship (EG Gold leaf and JPS for example) means the days of IDing a cars

country by its colour will never return, but where they can, they still try to stick to

it (F1 jaguar, Merc silver arrows etc).

White is still the best though,

etc...

:D

i'm glad to count the evil dr fish among my friends- yes it the factory original silver- not a repaint. everyone knows red cars are at least good for 2-4 mph faster than other cars....my motorcycle is red, but i think red is too italian and we chose to drive british steal not ferraris or ducati's so a proper british silver with red interior is about right- black on black is nice too!
