Coalace
As the dealer sourced lotus branded units are said to have a nicer version of the binnacle cover, does anyone know if they offer kits for the 05 and 06 cars, or must the AIM/Aftermarket version be purchased for the earlier cars? AustinP
Are only Lotus dealers getting the binnacle (instrument shroud) with the improved finish, or is it a "rev A" versus "rev B" situation where all AiM dealers are getting the improved binnacle? I bought mine from Inokinetic (US) and the binnacle actually looks pretty good, the finish is pretty close to my stock dash top (I wouldn't describe it as "plasticky"), but I haven't seen one of the Lotus dealer sourced units in person and it's hard to tell from photos which version I have. The dash units are the same. Its only the binnacle that's painted on the lotus one, But that wont fit the 2004-2007 white dash non airbag car anyway. You will need to 'sort' the control buttons, unless you find some who has sorted that point😏
xLEON0903x
My car is a 2013 model Elise with a 1.6 engine, but when I add a display with the new SW, I get an error in the engine mode and the traction control doesn't light up. And HVAC doesn't light up either. The serial number is 7700200. Does anyone have the same trouble? And unfortunately, the new FW does not turn on HVAC. vodoxus
Anyone Running the latest firmware suddenly have this issue? IF you leave the parking lights /headlights on , and turn off the car, the car still keeps idling / running. Turning off the headlights/parking llights shuts down the car. Dealer here has checked through, and after disconnecting the cluster, notices that this phenomena does not occur anymore. Wondering if its the latest firmware
xLEONx
When I installed it again with the new SW (3.34.02), a decimal point was added to each item as shown in the image. I think this is very hard to see and is a bad thing. The mode error remains unchanged.
Seriouslylotus
SW 3.34.02 is the RS3 software, nothing to do with the dash firmware. Start a new configuration in RS3 and re-flash the dash The decimal places are all programmable in the RS3 configuration Dont forget to select the correct model year of software in the dash once its updated
xLEONx
Thank you for your reply! I made a new configuration with RS3 software of SW 3.34.02 and reflashed it. * FW is the latest If you then select the model year on the dashboard, the configuration will disappear. * In that case, the mode error disappears and no decimal point is added. And HAVC doesn't light up either. I don't know how to change the decimal point and adjust the HAVC if it can be programmed with the RS3 configuration. Car is a S3 Elise 220 Sport . Hopefully fixed in a new firmware update
geartox
Did someone installed the aim rear camera with the MX2E ? Where did you installed the camera (through the diffuser finisher near the rear parking sensor) ?

I installed mine right above the license plate using double-sided tape to adhere AIM's camera bracket to the inside of the bumper cover — see the pics. No drilling, and it's basically invisible. It's lower than in most other cars, so you are actually much farther away from the objects you see, but that's a good thing. 1

Hi there, I am having the same problem with the "error" message on the display. If I use the default display configuration - no problem. If I use the RS3 software to create a new configuration and upload it to the dash, it accepts the changed configuration but displays "error" instead of the Race/Sport mode. My firmware is version is 02.32.79 which appears to be a couple of versions behind the latest according the release history pdf. However, I can't seem to download anything later than 02.32.79 when I go into the software upgrade page. My dash was supplied by Lotus Australia with my new Exige 410 Sport and it doesn't seem to have the option to choose any other models other than 2011-2020. I'm wondering if the Lotus supplied dashes are somehow locked down to a particular version of the FW - unlike the the retail versions? Can anyone tell me how to download the later FW versions and/or how to fix the "error" mode on the dash? Thanks, peter.
Seriouslylotus
Sofware is the same Re the models you click the model and them scroll with the LHS buttons. Later firmware is available via RS3, you will need to update RS3 to get the updates

Bibs
While the AIM has a similar screen, you'd have to buy the Motec unit if you wanted to replicate the 3-Eleven! https://www.racedatasystems.com/products/motec-c127-race-display-kit-non-logging 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Yoshi63
I am very happy with my MX2E product for my 2017 Lotus Elise S. However I am surprised to see that a lot of data are missing either for the display or the datalog. Indeed a large part of the generic OBD-II channels are not present. In my case I especially miss the short & long term fuel trim & battery voltage. I am a little disappointed on this point because an ELM327 which costs 10€ allows me to have these information and not the MX2E which costs way more. Yoshi63
Do not hesitate to contact the AIM support if you are agree with me. I contacted them in October but they answered that the project was closed for us... I'm really not happy with this answer, and I think I'm not the only one who wants this, especially since it's technically easy to add. I would have been happy if RS3 proposed to be able to add our own PIDs, I would have coded this myself but it is not possible either! It's frustrating to have such a good device with so many limitations. Edited January 6, 2021 by Yoshi63

Quick update - appears that the firmware checks temperature before booting and if too low doesn’t boot. I have received a new firmware version which fixes the issue. Great help from Dave to get the new firmware v02.34.37 which has sorted the problem.
