I've managed a paltry 160miles in two years  🙁 In fact those 160miles we're done in the first four months of ownership and it's not turned a wheel since. I hope to put that right in 2020!

My Esprit is like garage queen after I bought Evora. Last 5 years only 5000 km. Esprit came 2006, after that I have got about 55 000 km.

I've driven on average 2000 miles a year since putting the car back on the road in Dec 2012. Last year it was only 800 miles though - it didn't help that next door had a skip in front of our garage for 2-3 months - it was meant to be weeks rather than months. Got to drive it more this year.

My Excel I drive around 5000 miles a year. When I bought the car in 2015, it had driven only 3000 miles in the previous 16 years. Interesting to compare, I had thought that the Esprit's mileage dropped when I bought the Excel, but this is only true of the last year.

I drive my Esprit between 5 - 6,000 miles each year.

I also drive the Elise 4 - 5,000 miles per year

The number of miles does depend on which car I use for my annual French road trip (somewhere between 1,200 and 2,000 miles in a fortnight).

I've driven approaching 1,000 'shakedown' miles since getting this on the road last July (7 months).

It's just had it's suspension geometry set up professionally.

Used a daily driver, my SE has covered 15344 miles in 2019 (yes, I keep an xls 🤓).

Can anyone beat that, or do I get a prize now? 🙂

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

Thank you for the prompt - I thought I really ought to know the answer to this question, not least for insurance purposes.  So had a peek back through my MoT history:

  • 2019 - 3,200 miles
  • 2018 - 6,000 miles
  • 2017 - 2,000 miles
  • 2016 - 2,000 miles
  • 2015 - 5,000 miles

Like most of us I expect, these figures sit alongside those of a hatchback for workhorse trips.

Car seems completely happy when used at least every few weeks, otherwise starting can be a bit slow (without a working choke) and other grumbles have sometimes crept in.

Over 120,000 on the clock now, keeping them coming! 🤞
