Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble - 4th October 2020

Recommended Posts

I've just heard back from Duxford regarding the Spring Car Show and unfortunately there will be no show again this year despite some indications last year that the event would be revived. As an alternative I looked at various events last year and the best one I went to was the Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble. It's quite a large event and the grassed areas around the Airfield were packed with cars as far as the eye could see of all makes and types. Most of the Heritage Workshops were open showcasing Car rebuilds and other specialist services around the Classic Car business. Even more Cars were parked around the Workshop buildings and many were quite special.

Tickets must be bought in advance and are very cheap. There was no problem getting in or out of the venue last year.

More details here:

https://bicesterheritage.co.uk/whaton/january/

If there is enough interest I'll apply for a display area just for the Forum and you'll be able to buy tickets directly for our area.

Please post your interest below and I'll review in a week or so whether to go ahead. Tickets are already on sale, so please reply ASAP

Martyn.

Count me in. Went last year in the Club Lotus display, not sure if they are doing it again this year. Excellent event, just so much interesting stuff to see.

I "think" I'm free that day, so I'd be on for this.

The what's on page states pre-1990 vehicles.

The pre-1990 I think only applies to individual entries and not to Clubs. Certainly last year The Lotus Drivers Club had late model Exige's and Evora's on display as did the local Club Lotus Stand.

I would be up for this assuming the Watford Exotics Gin Dept pulls it’s finger out

Yep I'd be there for that Martyn, particularly with a 'club' area.

I went to the June scramble last year and also agree - great all round array of motors and a very organized event.

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies so far. I've spoken to Bicester Heritage and we need a minimum of 20 Cars of which 50% or more need to be pre-1990. So far we have:

Pre-1990

1. Martyn - Espirt SE

2. ChrisJ - Turbo Esprit / Excel

3. Dan E -   Turbo Esprit

4. benja-p - Esprit SE (might be latter than 1990, but hopefuly Ok)

5. Dave Freeman - Esprit SE

6. Barrie - Esprit S3 / Essex

7. Chris Cole - Turbo Esprit

8. Len Guy - Excel

Post-1990

1. Geoffers - Evora 400

2. Sparky - Esprit GT3

3. Nigel ? - Europa SE

4. Chillidoggy - Esprit S4S

5. Cdm2018 - Evora

If anyone has a private plate on their Esprit we maybe able to pass it off as pre-1990

We can have up to 50 Cars, so the more better 😃 Sign up now !!!!! More details to follow including booking code etc.

Thanks

Martyn  :welcome:

Hornchurch Exotics?  Do you have a certificate of incorporation?  There's also the initiation ceremony...

I take it this is changing a Cam Belt whilst lying in a pool of coolant whilst oil fills up you nose 😂 Mind you he's probably already done that !

Nothing that sedate!  Suffice to say it involves a Burroughs gauge and a live chicken.

I've said too much...

There will be a booking code as soon as I've registered us. Tickets can then be bought directly from the Bicester Heritage Website.

So are you expressing interest ?
