fan and fob - Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC/Other - The Lotus Forums #ForTheOwners Jump to content

My son has a very early 05 Elise.  I have downloaded the service manual that is supposed to cover it and many components are located in a different place.  A shop removed the front clam shell to repair collision damage.  Shortly after he got the car back the heater fan stopped working and the key fob arms the alarm but will not lock the doors.  He went overseas for work, when he got home, the company would not warranty the work.  Any idea of what/where to look.  Fuses and relays are good.  Hope to pull the clam shell next week.

Hawaii I believe.

The fan resistor pack may have gone, they're not fun to replace. The original sits in a tray under the fans which fills with water and corrodes the pack. Lotus made a revised version which sits on top of the fans.

The key's may need to be resync'd, the procedure is:

Update.  Pulled the clamshell.  4 pin connector was fine.  Power to the plug was fine.  Have continuity through the fan,but 2.5 meg ohm of resistance so I think the fan/pack is shot.  Did not have the time, parts, or facilities to investigate further.

New question.  The fuse for the door locks was blown.  Replaced it.  Doors locked ok, but fuse blew when trying to unlock.  Central lock module or should I be looking else where for the problem
