Envoke out now. We could be out in weeks and put all this utter bull to the wall.

im sick and tired of it all now. Lies, smoke, mirrors, utter bullshit and eurocrat stupidity. I'd firmly like to see the germans come crawling to us rather than us needing to go and negotiate a deal.

WTO rules and let's be done with it. I much prefer cider to over ponced champagne anyhow

Won't be long and it will all fall like a pack of cards.

even Merkel now is looking like doing a massive u turn on immigration - she's terrified of loosing her control

Funny how loss of control is more important than the good of the nation for the politicos.

FFS.

They accuse the Brexit campaign of lies but this article is complete and utter balls. The EU causes enormous amounts of paperwork for businesses and we have to keep two sets of accounts. The names and addresses of every customer have to be sent to the beauracrats. The people writing this have evidently not spoken to anyone who runs an exporting business. I note they have not allowed comments on the article as I would be in full flow by now on there....

News today:

"Unemployment drops by another 16000"

News on the BBC 1 o'clock news just now:

"Total number of people in jobs in the UK drops by 5000 owing to uncertainty caused by Brexit".

I cant ever remember the BBC ever once mentioning the total number of people in work in preference to mentioning the unemployed, until today when it suits them.

Ditto immigration figures. They never used to mention the gross figure, only the net figure, ie with emigration factored in. This completely changed recently when they realised they could highlight the governments failure to control it far better if they mention the gross figure, which they did last time. In reality they should always be reporting both figures as both are important.

And also, how on earth do they always manage to find the one commuter who supports the rail strikers?

So yet again - banks being bailed out cos they've lent money to people who can't repay..... about time all these loans were knocked on the head and folks lived within their means ?? A mortgage I can understand - but I had a mate who with his ex wife racked up a 130%ltv mortgage based on credit cards and holidays refinancing

Indeed.

When a sharp-suited salesman walks in and offers to lend you enough money for your new dream home, and tells you it'll all be fine and dandy, that's when people get taken in. They trusted the con-men who preyed on them, the salesmen made shedloads on mortgages which they knew would never be repaid, and it all went tits-up.

Which reminds me -  I've always had a repayment mortgage. When endowment mortgages arrived in a blaze of glory, many people took them up. I was wary, and when I went to the building society for a loan to rebuild my garage, the manager spent a whole hour trying to persuade me to change it to an endowment. I refused, and when the loan paperwork arrived, I noticed that along with the loan, my mortgage would be changed to endowment. I never signed the papers, and a year later went through the same process, with the same result. I then asked a friend who's wife worked in the same branch, she said the manager could get up to your first year's mortgage repayments in his pocket if he got you to switch. At that time that was a LOT of money, maybe £2,000, and that was a good few years ago. So, with commissions like that it's no wonder the salesmen were keen to promise you the world!

There we go. It's all the fault of the salesman. Nothing at all to do with the oxygen thieving numb skull idiots who did not think to actually try to understand what it was they were buying at the time of signing. Or was it that they were more pre-occupied with the have it now, worry about it later, nature of the deal!  No, sorry. The responsibility is  not with the sharp suited salesman, it's with the idiots who had absolutely no idea what they were getting in to or how they were going to get out of it. Jam today, worry tomorrow, cry and blame a big man who did it and ran away in the future. That just about sums up my generation!

They weren't preyed on. They were like lambs who led themselves to the slaughter house and looked on as their brothers and sisters were turned into chops and kofta's. like Lemmings who walked to cliff, looked over and saw all the other dead Lemmings and so went "weeeeee" and willingly jumped to join them.

It's not always someone else's fault. Quite often, it is our own. We just do not like to admit it.

I agree with you @C8RKH it seems easy to take the money and the whinge about the consequences. But I'm afraid like the payday lender lot - it's should not be allowed to happen. That's the issue with big business, greed and obsession with growth - they do prey on the dumb

I have never really understood the reason the government singled out "mis-sold PPI" as being something that the suppliers must refund everyone for.

If the government said that everything which was ever sold to people who didnt need it must be refunded all hell would break loose!
