I was seriously impressed when I drove an IPS 400. I was quite anti-IPS, prejudiced by the torque-convertor and memories of late 90s flappy paddle cars. 400 auto was fab and I hope to purchase one in 2021.

It tends to be the downshifts that annoy me on flappy cars; the S I drove was too slow in that regard for me but it was the development mule S IPS which B&C had for sale in late 2019, so it may not have been a representative example.

All Evora are great, just a sublime motor car.

OP, try the 400 then .

It's great when "on it", its good in traffic. It's not so brilliant when stuck in a cue of traffic at 40ish MPH. I've had both, for a daily the Auto all the time, fast road use probably also the Auto, Track, probably not. I've had both and done upwards of 20k miles in each, so feel I have a good handle on it.

The 400 is a step up from the S IPS that I drove.

You forgot to mention that darned noise when it blips on the shifts - every time I'm a following you on the good old Isle of Man I love the noise it makes. Makes me giggle and I'm not even in the car with you!

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

Yep, just a shame we’re both missing it this year.  Perhaps after the house move we can organise a couple of days.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Had a 2015 S auto, now have the 430 auto, both cars are so easy to use through Derby & Nottingham centres, when on a long sweeping bend being able to change gear with out taking hand off the steering wheel is a (real) bonus. Yes it may be an age thing!

I had not realised you had a 430 IPS Darryl, how do you find it overall when pressing on etc?

Love my IPS. Never find myself missing a manual. Maybe on track it would be different but I don't tend to track so no issues for me.

My only frustration is not being able to drop down to 1st sooner. Making a quick get away from 25 mph in 2nd can be ponderous sometimes...
