mike_sekinger
Just now, Jacques said: Looks super nice after the vapour blasting. Can it be done in situ, or is complete dismantling required? It's done in a cabinet, so the components (big or small) need to be sent away. Jacques
Thanks. It means it could be done in situ, if properly covered and outside. I tried a powderblasting when I bought the car, and it did help, but the nozzle was not working properly with the baking soda, and the whole courtyard was covered in white Water seems to be the better solution Kind regards, jacques Quote Nobody does it better - than Lotus
mike_sekinger
Coincidental with Simon's birthday, the replacement rod from CP Carrillo has arrived. They have taken the adaptions necessary to clear the piston cooling jets into their design moving forward. Many thanks to Joe Sulka from JAE for being instrumental in helping to sort out a replacement rod. The engine build can now continue. Chillidoggy
You’ll be pleased with that, Mike. I had my alloy engine block and all other alloy parts vapour blasted, and I’m very pleased with the result. Looks great, and leaves a very easy to clean surface, everything just wipes off. Shame you can’t see the engine and box, though! Quote Margate Exotics.

dclare
Hi Mike, Are the ali pipes from the compressor outlets single piece or do they have a join (hard to see properly from the pics)? Mine have a silicone pipe joiner which as you've seen is too close to the exhaust manifolds and the whole thing needs refabricating with a single hard pipe from the compressor to the chargecooler. Dave.
mike_sekinger
Hi Dave, They are hard-pipe. TIG welding the original end of the compressor ducts, which are formed to clear the manifolds/ex. studs. I have a large stock of raw cast compressor ducts prior to machining and finishing.
