TBH, outside of his ‘King of Cool’ persona, McQueen Snr himself wasn’t the nicest person. Especially to his wife & kids.

Not a surprise really he had a horrendous childhood, mother was an alcoholic prosstitute, his father abandoned them, grew up in a kids home for delinquents, after his step father persuaded his mother to sign the papers.  He did repent some what in later life giving generously to his former kids home. He was a pretty messed up guy. I have read he could be extremely generous to those in similar positions. But he did treat Women horrendously, until he met his last partner. I think he repented but by that time was dying of Cancer.
