installing the new Lotus suspension, I took everything apart to coat POR15

but the holes where the top and bottom ball joint mount in are offset

so I'm not sure which one is left and right

can someone check thiers and let me know?

thanks

Not 100% sure what you mean. But the upper wishbones that clamp onto the balljoint are the same and there is no left or right front or back. If you mean the vertical link which your hub goes onto as well as the balljoints these are also the same for both sides. Hope this helps but if you could be a bit clearer with the description of the part you mean we can verify this for you.

Nah he means the hub + spindle (dont ya ?)

I believe they are both the same part so it wont matter.

The wishbones are also the same part but mine were all slightly different due to the welding (and some small differences) - if you put the wrong ones in the wrong place the geo will be slightly out.

If it is the wishbone I can help you reduce that by 50% as the fronts are different to the backs everso slightly :)

Does this image help you?

no, that is the image that led me astray! it shows it symetrical

All

see the ball joint holes are offset

so the question is do the ball joint holes go toward the front or toward the rear of car?

from this pic on my site, it looks like the hole is offset towards the front of the car.

the front being towards the left of the image. Could be an optical illusion though.

I just checked mine, which happened to be wheels off -- same as Travis, the upper holes are definitely towards the front. Of course, I might have done the same as you when I had the suspension all apart a couple of years back... :)
