Albeit with the Moaner-in-Chief saying posr-race that Alonso was ‘driving dangerously’.

That is true but I do feel he delivered that line slightly in self defense against the time it took to get past.

Great to see old masters like Vettel and Alonso put in some great efforts.

Reminds the young kids of the other side of motor racing craft. It not just about attacking.

So long as Mercedes do not get more upgrades and take off again like the last few years then this season will play out as it has done.  Very difficult to predict anything at all in and around  the top 10 places.

Great innit :)

Honda have announced that both Red Bulls have got to have new engines because of the two accidents so looks certain they will both have have grid penalties. Seems unfair when they have already been penalised by not being able to finish their races and neither accident was their fault. Mercedes must be laughing

Really pleased to read that perez has been extended at Red Bull. Good for him. Good for the team. And, actually, I think good for Verstappen too.  Hopefully this means someone has finally found a way to gag the old interfering geezer!

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

Remind me again how many people have been "punted off" by Max in his F1 career? I mean, FFS, in Spa two years running he took himself and several others out by diving into turn 1!  The dumbflugger didn't learn from the first time?

I do find it hilarious that a lot of people are saying woe is Max, when at other times it was "just racing".....

I suppose them's the rules they play by. Shame for the crowd who must have spent many hours in the wet.

And after the race being classified they are not entitled to a refund. Cash is king.

Finally the cynic in me thinks that they only drove those couple of laps behind the safety car to prevent the circuit owners having to pay out all those ticket refunds…

And may be tv /sponsorship money?

Brilliant result for Russell, he was so close to his first F1 win and it would have been well deserved, you might have been able to put it down to strategy in quali 1 but quali 2 and quali 3 it was all down to driver ability.

One of the biggest Russell fans here, but come on close to his first win? lets be realistic to be on the podium on race day would have been super human. Yes great for him getting his second place in race that never even started just leaves a bitter taste in most fans minds, especially those track side.

I seem to recall Vettel saying it should be called off right from the start. Ultimately, to let them race could have meant potentially serious injuries. Let’s not forget it’s not long ago that a driver died at Spa. Would that have been right?

Yes, it was disappointing, but the FIA stuck to the rule book, and no amount of online whinging can change it.

We should now be looking forward to Zandvoort.

At the same meeting they had formula W - did anyone see the crash where at least 5 cars crashed one after the other - I think that was on Saturday. Not far from where Lando started his accident in Q3.

With regards to the 'race' I see Lewis has made a statement in the last few hours saying the 'race' should have not started.
