FF 110
Ciao all, On behalf of a dear friend of mine in Italy I write this topic to see if someone of you had a similar issue. The car is an Exige 430 CUP with manifolds installed and the Reverie airbox. The Ecu map is still the original one. The car is very fast and going well but when you are on 4th, 5th or 6th gear with a constant throttle position between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm the engine start to tug, become rough. It is like there is an electrical cut of power. If you drive the car like you have stolen it is fine and the engine is perfect. Someone of you experienced something similar? Thanks in advance. GFWilliams 1,968
Not sure what you expect if changing airflow with no mapping...
Tex 217
Your friend will need to get a remap of the ECU and that isn’t going to be easy. Edited May 12, 2020 by Bibs Mistake

FF 110
Just an update in order to help anyone else may have a similar issue. As mentioned the car has a reverie carbon fiber airbox and was installed as well a duct bringing fresh air from the side scoops to the air box. The duct has been removed and now the car is running perfectly. Seems that there was to much air and turbulences coming to the filter and it can't be handled by the sensors in the intake. Now the car is fast and perfectly smooth like before.
Harald32 9
sorry, but that's not the solution to your problem. With the CAI you have to reprogram the ECU. Lotus is tuned very fat, but with a lot more air it can be too lean in certain areas. That is also the reason why at KomoTec the CAI is only sold with assembly on site and not as an order item. Agreed. Car will be running lean. The airbox is not a problem in the KT kit with a map, connected to the duct. Dave
FF 110
I agree with both of you @Harald32 and @Hangar 111 that a remap of the Ecu will be needed. My friend in Italy is already organizing to have that done accordingly to the lockdown.
