Watching it now . Ed China didn’t fit in my S4s at the nec either. 😆. They had to take the passenger seat out so they could go round the Lotus Track with Ed China in the car

@gghc87 - I understand that it didn't have a happy ending - and ended stuck on the dock in Gibralter. Do you know why that was - and what eventually happened to it?

Apparently, the rule of thumb according to Ed China, is that if you need to do more than 2 things to the engine, it has to come out!!!!! Normally if he has to change the wiper blades then the engine has to come out 😂😂😂🤔

Oops am I bad senior moment , it was Daves Sport 350 and my HC he couldn't get into at the NEC.

It was 2008 , no idea what happenend to the car though.

We did get him in eventually but I think butter was involved to a large extent

The car was back in the uk and sold a few years ago on eBay. It was a mess.

I wonder why it never made it to the intended recipient!? It was meant for the purchasers son-in-law in Gibralter wasn't it?

Wondered if it was either due to some import tax - but that wouldn't make sense under the free movement of good regulations current at the time - or the purchasers daughter and son-in-law fell out? All a bit weird.......

@Barrykearley - someone once mentioned to me that it was transported to Gibraltar and then sat on the dock, in the sun, for ages.

I don't know if that's true - nor do I understand, if it is, why hat happened.

I also don't understand why it was then apparently brought back to the UK.

It's had a vey intriguing, if somewhat harsh, life.

Its sad that such a great car hasn't been cherished more - and I hope that whoever owns it now has, or is intending to, restore it to its former glories.

Even compared to the Evija I think the Esprit can hold its own in terms of looks.

Is that the blue one which had similarly coloured smoke from the back which was somehow fixed by replacing the cambelt and exhaust manifold?

That’s the very one 🤭 - they simply must have lied about the extent of the works they carried out

I seem to recall the blue smoke being bad when going round Hethel after the work.

That’s the episode I’m in for about .5 of a second. Mike Brewer on line reviewing Autotrader adds at the start - pic of me and my 1st Esprit - scrolls past and not even so much as a phone call lol.
