Hi All,

Thinking of selling my Evora now for whatever I can get for it from a forum user .... make me an offer and I promise not to swear (well maybe!).

Would consider p/x but only at trade prices but this would not be my preferred option.

Is that Saj's old car?

Thanks Tim. I was wondering what happened to it. I know when Saj had it that car wanted for nothing and was well maintained.

Must say I would love to buy your sport racer if I was in market even though it be outside of my affordability

good luck don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t sell at a very decent price

I suspect that it is because the car has been so heavily modified. The unfortunate irony is that not only does it obviously excludes those buyers who are looking for a stock car but buyers who intend to modify their car also tend to prefer to start from scratch.

As great as all those mods have made your car, your potential number of buyers is probably very small. And the current situation won’t be helping things.

Have you asked any of the Lotus specialists if they will buy it off you?

No not thought of that as expect they would offer extremely ridiculous money ... I may be wrong?

It's interesting that a lot of people "enjoy" build threads and get excited at what people have done to their cars but I'm not sure how many people really do buy upgraded or modded cars.  Your own car @Bravo73 is heavily modded, as are many cars on here, so I am assuming they will be all hard to sell on?  Is it the performance mods that put people off?

I think buyers in the UK are generally more conservative and agree with Jonny that these cars have a small buying pool when standard, and smaller still when modded.

I'm upgrading my own Evora 410 but she's I keeper, like I suspect Jonny's car is and others like @Bruss.

Sorry, not helping but I think I am trying to say that a modded Evora is potentially a very tough sell, made harder by the lack of buyers in general in the current climate.

I know your car quite well @MadMick through it's previous owner who did lavish a lot of love on it. It's a cracking car. Looks great. Sounds great. Goes great!

I guess it depends on how quickly you want to sell it. And judging by your ‘open to ALL OFFERS’ comments, it seems that you would like it sold pretty quickly.

Jon Seal & Will Blackham would be the first people that I would ask. Jon is also a 410 owner and posts on here reasonably regularly.

You’re right, I’ve got no plans to sell it. But if I was to, I would return it as close to ‘stock’ as possible first. (I’ve kept all of the OEM parts that have come off it). I don’t think that Mick has that option though.

@C8RKH  "Looks great. Sounds great. Goes great!" ... you have it there in one short sentence.

@Bravo73 .... only if I get desperate!

Depends what day you ask but suspect I will keep it as I had intended to do originally .... absolutely love it .... just need my heart to be stronger than my head.

... and NO, I do not really need the money.

not wishing to upset anybody and those who love red cars won`t agree but that is not the best colour for an evora

@MadMick - I swither and dither too over my Evora 410. Keep it. Sell it. Keep it.  I've been hankering after a Macca (in the complete and total absence of anything meaningful other than teasing pish from Lotus on the next new model maybe sometime possibly in the future) and could not justify having the Evora and the Macca. They are too similar.  However, I've finally decided to keep the Evora.  Main reason is that it's a great looking car. It's rarer than the Macca. People see you driving it and don't think you are some rich kid douchebag but also the current owners of Lotus cars are just, on the whole, such a really nice bunch of people. They love cars and driving and are as enthusiastic about a 25 year old S1 Elise as they are about a brand new 430 Cup.  It's not about the "cost" or prestige of the car (like it is with so many other brands) but it is about the appreciation of the cars.

With your KT430 kit, there will not be much on the road that leaves you standing. And when you look at their running costs and the longevity of the Toyota mechanicals they just make sense. Sure, a stage 4 Nissan GTR Nismo will run away, but it won't be as much fun and as communicative as your Evora.

So the only option really is to move to a Macca. Significant extra cost. Huge depreciation. Suspect build quality reported. And a minimum of £4k a year for the warranty. Hmmm.... The Evora looks like a good proposition for the long term lol....

@C8RKH Did not really need convincing but such a great post from you goes a long way to doing that.

Macca's are great but Bang for Buck the Evora is miles ahead 😍.

Stay with the Evora ... you will regret it later if you do not! (he says trying to convince himself even more).

@pete Ok I will accept blue 😆

I might move the part about the clutch being done to the top of the ad and replace the blurry shots. It makes you look more fastidious if the pictures are all clear. Internal pictures with a straight steering wheel.

I might also tone down the all offers part a bit.

Maybe it's over picky but first impressions are important when you are spending a lot of money on a car. Length of the advert is good as it shows care.

As people have said you have a limited audience so you really need to grab them. It's hard if you aren't having a conversation bit you could also try some insight to change their 'requirements'.

Maybe something along the lines that when buying, through research, you found a car that could provide the performance benefits of a GT line but without the higher costs. People have probably already decided to buy an Evora at this point but you can change what they are looking for in an Evora. Try to weave in the 'opportunity' as well as FOMO i.e it's unique etc. Without making it used car salesman levels of obvious. A story of your experience is good as they are buying into your lifestyle/experiences

@TdM Thanks, will give it some thought. Did not want to put people off with the price but unsure what was best level to price it at.

Sorry not great with camera and shaky hands, will try again.

Thanks for the input.

also is difficult to sell this type of modified car privately. Have you thought of SOR with someone like silverstones?

Everything is a possibility but leaning towards keeping it ..... nothing else comes close for the price.
