Registered
Anyone replaced a starter motor in the Evora? Can't seem to find a guide in the Evora manual with regards to which parts to remove to access the starter. Is it a case of just trying to remove the airbox as I go? Should I aim to replace the motor from the top by removing the airbox or should it be done underneath by removing the undertray? Thanks
RedViper
On an exige it is possible to do it all from the top once the air box it removed👍
Bibs
It's super easy to get to with the airbox removed... EGTE
I'd be going back to that dealer. 18 months is unacceptable quality (i.e. unfit for sale).

For sure but as the lotus dealer said they never known a starter motor to fail and certainly not two in short time ? anyway I put it down to my bad luck and just waved it off on the back of a trailer on its way to lotus

Did they not just listen to you tell them exactly that? I did have a long conversation with PJS who did the warranty work on behalf of Snows and they were supplied the part from Snows. i don’t know which part was given if it was brand new or reconditioned ? It’s so much hassle and time consuming trying to get an answer and in the end the part carries only a 12 month guarantee so in the end it’s just my bad luck ? EGTE
Are you in the UK? I would expect a starter motor to last 6 years at least. https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/sale-of-goods-act
Gold FFM Cdm2018 Posted August 19, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted August 19, 2020 I have tried to convince the lotus dealer that 18 months and less than 20k used twice a week is surely nothing in the life cycle of a starter motor ? But the response is what I said in previous posts and yes I am in UK
