I was new to lotus and bought an Evora NA used. Then I bought a used Type116 to go with the NA. Then I swapped the NA for a brand new Evora 410 Sport and still have the Type 116.

Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate.  Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies!

The first guy to ride a bull for fun, was a true hero. The second man to follow him was truly nuts!

Started in 1992 and have lost count. Can't think of any I did not enjoy, ranging from twin cam Europa to S300 Esprit to Evora.

S1 Elise probably my favourite.

Always sad to hear of a bad experience or tainted one with a Lotus.

Expectation can be the root of all heartache - I have a pal who hankered after an Aston Martin for years. He finally bought a 20 year old DB7 - and sold it within 12 months after what I considered to be fairly minor hic-cups.  He wisely said 'I guess I just did not love it enough'.

I have been relatively unscathed in my Lotus times. I suppose buying a S1 Elise for £17K and spending £7K on it in 3,000 miles would put many off for life. For me, it is still a bundle of joy and pleasure; and worth every penny.

I forget how many Esprit I have owned - I think I came out on top including repairs on every single one. Lucky.

My Excel - aptly named as I need a spreadsheet to keep tabs on the expense. Still adore it, still use it and I don't begrudge a penny. Fabulous wedge (pun intended).

The poll has only been running since Saturday and there is clear evidence of people afflicted with a Lotus Owning disease with 9 people so far with more than 6 cars, it will be interesting to see the long term results.

I wonder if lotus understand this obsession.

I think Lotus understand this very well.

I would be interested to see how many have bought a new Lotus.

The problem I see that Lotus has, is that it is very hard to persuade a wide audience to buy a new Lotus - especially at list price. With the more specialist models (Elise, Exige) that is perhaps less of a problem but when Lotus attempt to go a tad more mainstream (M100, Evora), they struggle to pull in enough customers to buy new.

This will be the acid test for Geely over the next 5 years or so. Can they sell new Lotus cars at a profit?
