Fridge 1,025
Just now, Kevin Wheeler said: As I understand it - Turbo Esprit is Giugiaro, Esprit Turbo is Stephens. 910Esprit 576
on the other hand, all G cars including HC are badged "Turbo Esprit" But as you can see, I just call mine a random mixture... Edited November 26, 2020 by 910Esprit
Fridge 1,025
They were @910Esprit which makes even order. I think could keep this debate going to at least page 120...

Fridge 1,025
Yes interesting, mentioned 3x too, and from 1982 I believe. This from about the same time uses both. So perhaps they were interchangeable? https://lotusmarques.com/info/technical/30-lotus-esprit/188-lotus-turbo-esprit-s3-sales-brochure Edited November 26, 2020 by Fridge
ChrisJ 1,505
I'm with @Kevin Wheeler as regards the day to day usage - TE for the G cars, ET for the S. Now days S3 Turbo seems to be very common as well.

Popular Post steve clack 83
Hello Paul, good luck with your new project... I have just bought (July) a renovation project a 1983 Lotus Esprit S3 N/A. It has been sat in a garage untouched since last being on the road in July 1998. I have just recommissioned the engine, new timing belt, reconditioned water pump, new radiator, a good tidy up etc...Engine fired up first time after 22 years of slumber. My red leather interior has been rejuvenated (it was a bit like yours) but has come up nicely. I am getting the bodywork ready for a full repaint in the original Monaco white, should be ready for spraying in about a week. I have spent £1,500 all in, for this so far, including the paint (£500), bbs wheels reconditioned (at the moment) and new tyres all round. If you have some various skills you can get these cars back on the road, looking great for a relatively small budget.

skiing 112
Looks great Steve - how did you do the white lettering in the bumper? Also, when you replaced the rear light surrounds, did you include a seal between the black surround and the white body work - I think I can see one with your number plate mounting. I need to re-do mine and wanted to check. Thanks!
steve clack 83
Thanks as you know it’s a lot of work...the white letting was fairly easy, when I bought the car the bumpers were painted white, so all I had to do was mask the white area then spray black. There was no seal on my lights, so I just butted up the light surround to the white bodywork. Looks crisper that way.

White turbo, not sure it was the one that @Trevsked had for a while with the wonderful tobacco interior which was a JEX. White turbo, Yes, you're right, not the active suspension Esprit but a white turbo. Just seen it in the "Esprit Addiction for life" DVD and it was A65 JEX. Last MOT expired August 2012. Wonder what happened to it?
steve clack 83
If anyone needs tyres that are the right size and a great price. I found ones for my car...all in including delivery £187.00.
ChrisJ 1,505
EX seems to be one of the registrations that Lotus used - my Excel JEX is also a Lotus registered car, a number of adverts feature EX cars as well.
steve clack 83
Funny seeing a car that has the next number plate to yours...
