Gold FFM tomcattom 285 Posted December 31, 2020 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 31, 2020 Just been reading through the service notes for something un-related and happened to spot that the service notes and parts list disagree on what Permabond to use for the oil temperature sensor. The parts list states Permabond A131 in the notes column in section 17.07A However the workshop manual calls for Permabond A134 at the very end of section EF A131 is listed as a "Low strength anaerobic pipe sealant" where as A134 is a "High viscosity/high strength anaerobic retainer". Anyone know which one is the correct one to use? Quote Norfolk Mustard S4s #
drdoom 444
Hi Tom, The oil temp sender would perhaps be a tapered, pipe thread would it not? If so it is both innately self sealing and self locking and the low strength A131 would be entirely correct. High viscosity/high strength stuff suits sleeve and bearing retention where there is a slip fit between parts, as I understand it. Cheers
