Popular Post SMG Racing
Hi folks, I registered here 5 years ago and have only been a quiet reader until now. That will change from today. I come from motorsport and have over 30 years of experience. From 1995-2013 I drove a Sunbeam Lotus in the german hillclimb championship. Looking for a new challenge, I decided on a Lotus Esprit V8 in 2015. I really wanted a V8 mid-engine, turbocharged car to ignite the final stage in hill climbs. First of all, I rebuilt a Sport 350 as a test car. This still has a road approval and serves as a T-Car to adjust the chassis, brakes, engine and transmission. The power is between 500-700 HP, depending on the boost pressure. The 6-speed dog gearbox comes from x-shift. The weight is ballasted to 1040kg because of the regulations. I will upload pictures of this project. Next up this year I'll build a 2nd car, the ultimate Esprit V8 of all time. It looks like the black factory car from 1996 (BPR), the Lotus Esprit GT1. This build up will be also documented by me and uploaded here next time. I do everything myself and can do everything to anyone. I offer the following work: engine build and rebuild (specially all 900 series LOTUS) Production of turning and milling parts TIG welding of aluminum or stainless and titanium bodywork and painting Construction of all body parts in carbon fiber or GRP I will upload some images about my work on Esprit in categories next time. best regards, Andrae S. 7

gvy
Hello Andrae and glad you decided to post here after 5 years. I look forward to your esprit build. I also watched some video's of the hillclimbs with the Talbot lotus sunbeam and they are spectacular. You got 285 BHP at over 9000 rpm out of a 2l 907 engine and keepin it in one piece ? I guess you know your things around the 907/912 engines. I really like to see more about that. Greets Geert

Popular Post SMG Racing
Hi folks, after a long time this is the third chapter of engine work. It's been a while, but didn't have the time to upload it. Do some different work on the 918 engine from different cars. I made a lot of things myself, such as the belt drive, the other connecting rod bearings, the turbos, the electric water pump, the carbon clutch, the X-Shift transmission and much more. I haven't sorted the pictures, so the order is not chronological. Still have fun looking at it, :-) 9

drdoom
The coarseness evident on the 918 crank cast surfaces is striking to my eye. Quite intrigued by that 4 cylinder beast seen in the photos, so please share insights if you fancy. Cheers
