Looking for 3D chassis model

TBD

Recommended Posts

Doesn anyone here have or know of a 3D model of the Esprit backbone chassis? Not necessarily looking for a complete Esprit model, but specificaly the rear engine bay and suspension.

Maybe someone made something while planning an engine swap?

This has been he only thing I've been able to find, but it seems to have disappeared from the web.

But maybe someone would at least help with the following  key dimensions:

  1. Width of the space for the engine betwen the two chassis rails
  2. Length of the space between the front of the engine bay and the rear crossbeam
  3. Length of the space between the front of the engine bay and the rear axles.

  • Gold FFM

Douglas Larkin on the 'Lotus Esprit Turbo Owners' Facebook group has been showing his progress on full 3D scanning of an entire S4. Looks really impressive. He's also done some structural simulation of the chassis. Don't think he's on LTF. I've messaged him enquiring about the availability of the 3D models, to no avail. His business is in scanning and the 3D models are gold dust IP, wouldn't be at all surprised if he wants to keep the models to himself.

But maybe he'd be willing to share the above dimensions? Might be worth reaching out to him on FB.
