Bibs
We have recently become aware of this trophy coming up for auction. It was awarded to Jim Clark in 1962 for Pole Position and Fastest Lap Rand Grand Prix Trophy. The Jim Clark Fan Club feel that this cup should belong to the Jim Clark Trust and on display in the Jim Clark Museum in Duns. We are unsure what the final bid for this would be and we have asked our membership (5.9k members) if they would like to make a donation to allow us to bid at the auction for this. We have no idea what the interest will be like and how much the trophy will fetch at the auction. a contribution to the funds to allow us to bring this back to Duns. We would be most grateful to you and we would ensure that you are mentioned on our facebook page to be seen by our members worldwide. If we were to be unsuccessful we will return the monies donated to everyone – however, it would be so meaningful to allow this trophy to come back to the Borders and allow fans to view it when they come to visit The fund page is now open see below for details https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8xrjYG3XEw?fbclid=IwAR1LTnzdkwxjUl5DZHzSvpzqIUc8S98C8npWkje0XXKFrNN1qsA_9SKrmVA @delands popped me a link to this on Facebook. Please do feel free to get involved if you are able to. 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Francisco Franco
It seems we are bidding against an early riser with deep pockets, hopefully the reserve is not met and the owner can speak with the museum and come to an arrangement, lets be honest £4k is enough for that cup and the museum is it’s rightful resting place....fingers crossed

delands
Unfortunately, the trophy did not meet the reserve. However, the bid for the Jim Clark museum was the highest. They will try to get details of seller. Last bid was £12,110. Thanks to all who donated to the cause.
Bibs
That's very strong, reserve could be anything but that seems like a lot of money. Good effort for trying, fingers crossed they get hold of it off the seller without too much trouble. 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Popular Post delands
Well some good news and bad news! Bad news is that we will not be going forward with the purchase as the reserve was £17,500 though it was offered eventually for £13,500. Still more than what we had. However, a deal has been done with another seller, with funds we have, to purchase Jim's Aintree race win cup from 1963. Looking forward to it being in the Jim Clark Museum, 1 1
LotusLeftLotusRight
According to wiki the 1963 British Grand Prix was held at Silverstone. Clark won. edit looks like it was 1962.

Francisco Franco
Well, in my opinion, a pretty poor show on the sellers side of things, personally I would have took the £12k and been glad that it had gone to the museum.... but hey that’s his business. delands, how much was paid for the one they bought in the end?
delands
It was up for sale at £15,000 though a deal was done for a few thousand less.
