GORDONIE'S ABOARD

GORDONIE

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Gordonie here.

I have driven Lotuses since my first Europa in 1975.

My curent car, "mellow Yellow" is a highly modified 2000 V8.

M.Y. won best of show at the LOG 24 in Birmingham last year.

My "thing" is to take road trips. Out of the 35,000 miles on the car,

about 25,000 of them are from road trips.

I live in L.A., and hate to drive my car in its traffic. Also, L.A.

really dosen't have great roads, like so much of the country.

I have driven my car in 38 states.

There is nothing better then being in the saddle all day; becoming one with your car, exploring the back roads, being a Lotus Gypsy.

My car is stiff, smooth, sounds great and is very fast. With my cruise control, Navigation system, and great sounds, I feel like Captan Kirk when driving it.

I am now preparing for the trip to LOG 25 in St Louis.

It will be glorious.

Hope to see all of you there.

Gordonie

Wow.. the legendary Gordonie is on board :) :)

Tho it sounds like you have a slightly unnatural 'Alabama; relationship with your car :P

The teasing has started already - you are truly welcomed aboard! :P

Does this make Elises the Tribbles?

No... Actually, thinking about it... It makes all the idiot plebs in the mundane cars the Tribbles because as the day progresses they continuously multiply and perpetually get in the way!

Twats in caravans must clearly be the Klingons cos they need wiping out!

I *thought* that 'police' Esprit was a mock up for either a show or a competition?

Guest teigan

welcome aboard captain. i too hate driving in L.A.. try not to. last time i went was for an awards ceremony. the bottom rear valence got crunched coming out of a parking lot. the curb dropped more than a foot to accomodate nonfunctioning rain drainage. no street lighting either, so i couldn't see the drop from the other side. in my opinion, america is a third world country.

Hello Gordonie and welcome.

I met you at the Lotus Convention in Portland in 2003 and we talked about your road trips; your yellow Lotus Esprit is just beautiful.

It is great that you drive your car so much on these long trips; it is like being an ambassador for Lotus.
