Windscreen sun shade

Can anyone recommend a windscreen sun shade that fits an Evora and folds for storage? I'm using a homemade one right now but it doesn't fold and looks crap. I've seen a fancy folding American one but they don't seem to be available here.

UVS100 Premier Series Custom Sunscreen - Covercraft

They will make you one for Evora apparently. They are top notched, I bought one from an ex-Evora owner in the UK. I think it cost him £130 landed but it is a thing of great quality and fits perfectly.

Budget boy option, cut a Correx sheet to size, it will fold up easily.

Thanks all.  The covercraft one looks the business but I'd be bound to get stung for import vat, handling charges and everything so it would end up costing a fortune, real shame they're not sold over here.  I've already got a homemade one so those are out.  The Disney Cars one has a certain appeal 🙂 . But then the covercaraft one..maybe I'll give, thanks for link to the Greggs site.

@Spanky3 I didn't pay any import duty or VAT when I got my sunshade from GRP that got shipped via FedEx. I think the shipping cost I paid covered that.

That’s unlikely, unfortunately. More likely that your package managed to get past Customs without being picked up.

I bought the American one and it’s great but I had to get it shipped to a pal in US and then  over here and US to UK shipping is extortionate.  Maybe if a few people want one that could make it more reasonable and I would happily help out with the go-between in US

Interesting...  The Covercraft one is available from the US on ebay, £82 shipped including prepaid VAT and duty.  That's an awful lot of money compared to the 7 quid Disney cardboard one but it does look smart.  I'll hold off for a bit though and see if there's an better alternative.

The quality of the CoverCraft one really is top notch. I know it's expensive but it's a one off expense and it'll still be worth £80 second hand if you ever sell...........

^^ this. I’ve got the Covercraft one in sunny Oz and it is absolute light years ahead of other shades I’ve used in the past for quality. Fits perfectly too.

IMO it’s worth it to protect a car as special as an Evora...

I'm using this two-piece shade in size large.  Not a perfect fit but fills most of the screen.  Folds up into a small bag, which comes with it.

The Covercraft one just looks so classy. A mystery to me why it is not readily available in UK/Europe. Or that Lotus don't offer this, the ultimate solution. Evora deserves it.

It is an awkward shape but I have taped it up to make a better fit and will shortly be cutting it to shape. It covers the leather of the dash and the steering wheel.

Whilst I very much like the Covercraft sunscreen I wasn’t willing to take a chance on getting clobbered with the import duty and VAT bringing it in from the U.S. Fortunately for me though my wife is very handy with a sewing machine and between us we’ve manged to make something along similar lines. It has a foam-backed silver foil outer layer, 10mm foam board infill panels, a black fabric inner layer, all with a bound edge. We’ve also added an elasticated strap to keep it tidy when stowed and although it’s a little bulky it stows away easily behind the seats for easy access.

This is the MK2 version, my first attempt had used Correx infill panels which whilst they did the job I found they sagged a little in the heat.

Its size made it a little awkward to handle at times whilst machining, especially once the infill panels had been inserted, so not the easiest thing to produce on a domestic sewing machine but I’m very pleased with the end result nonetheless.

All we need now is for Summer to arrive! 🙂
