dcorns
Hi, I have a 1982 series 2 Elite and I am after a parts diagram for the rear tailgate assembly, namely the rear wiper assembly. Many thanks David
exeterjeep
I had a S2 elite for many years, the only pars list/diagrams I had were for the S1 but the lotus parts list included the parts for the S2 but no pics.
dcorns
Thanks for the information. I do have the service manual and parts list. But it is a picture of the assembly I really need.
USAndretti42
Sorry I can't help but congratulations on your choice of car. A S2 Elite is what I wanted but they so rarely come up for sale in a decent condition that I went for choice 2, an Excel. rjwooll
I recently removed and cleaned up the rear wiper motor and mechanism on my S2.2. No pictures unfortunately, but it is simple to remove. The motor itself is off a Porsche 928, and the drive is via a peg that locates onto the rear wiper when the tailgate is closed. I’m happy to answer whatever questions you may have. Cheers, Richard
dcorns
Hi Richard Thank you for your reply and kind offer of assistance. My problem is I cannot seem to get the assembly tight enough and when the arm moves you can see it rock up and down. I thought maybe a spacer or a washer might be missing. Cheers David

Cheers David David, is it the assembly that is mounted on the rear window or the motor assembly that feels loose? Richard
dcorns
Hi Richard It is the assembly that fits in the glass. It does all work, it is the arm assembly rocks in the glass. Cheers David
rjwooll
Hi David, I’ll need to dismantle mine to find out in which order the various washers are on both sides of the window. If I remember rightly on the external side of the glass, there is a rubber washer beneath a steel washer. i hope to have time later this week - if not it will be later next week I’m afraid. cheers, Richard
