V6S front overhang

VRC

Recommended Posts

Hi, currently in the market for a V6s and have found that they're ground clearance is 13cm which is fine for the speed bumps. However, the dimension I can't find is front overhang. Could anyone advise on what the distance from where the tyre meets tarmac to front of splitter is? This hump into driveway is quite steep.

Thanks.

Hi VRC,

i cant tell you the measurements in cm - depends which front splitter u have. But the ramp/slope angle should be about more or less 11°.

Thanks.

So is 11 degrees the angle of the slope which an exige can go up without hitting splitter? Or is 11 degrees the angle between the the fixed points of where tyre meets and tarmac and front edge of splitter?

I find it a bit of a mate... so many drives are out of bounds. @alias23 sells a very useful kit to protect the underside from damage due to scrapes. But it won’t stop you catching the splitter.

By doing some math with ground clearance to underside of splitter being 13cm and if angle is 11 degrees then distance between middle of wheel (where tyre meets road) to front of splitter is equal to just under 67cm.

The original V6S splitter is actually quite flexible but it can crack easily if hit at the wrong angle. The Sliplo solution @Jcx referances which I've packaged is not going to stop a direct crack but help to try and prevent the 'scratching' and scraping especially for those splitters which arent flexible such as the carbon fibre ones on the 410/430 setups. More info can be found here: https://alias23.com/collections/exige-s3-v6-all-products/products/lotus-exige-s3-sliplo-front-splitter-guard with recent installs on @Bispal and @RRSSS 430Cups.

Yup, it's been on my splitter for a year and a half now and works great 👍🏻
