GT3 Secondary fuel injector resistor obsolete, what now?

Recommended Posts

SJ are telling me the secondary fuel injector resistor which has died on my 1996 GT3 is obsolete and unavailable.  So what are my/our options.  Does anyone have another source, or are these things repairable?

Any help would be much appreciated.

yes Ian, there must be a problem with the board, as I'm getting about 3.6 ohms, at either end of the resistor so I know thats ok, but nothing across the terminals.

Ive taken the resistor off the board, and soldered wires and spades to it, and it works a treat

Are you sure it wasn’t dry joints ??

I think Barry, the issue is with his car. Not his hips.

Oh i dont know, I am getting on a bit these days.

I have taken the unit apart, and as I said above Im getting good resitance across the resistor itself, but nothing at the spades.  To test I've taken the resistor off the board and solders a couple of wires to it and popped it back in, works a treat.  Conscious that these things can get hot I'm going to put it back in the casing and fill with resin.
