the new GT40s have a factory recall order on them. this is the third round of factory recalls for separate engineering flaws. to be fair, the first one was partially a vendor manufacturing flaw.

The recall on the new GT40 is due to the lower front wishbone failing. The replacements are being CNC cut from solid billet aluminium. I read it was costing Ford over $10,000 a unit to fix the problem ;)

As for JACKS!!!

I carry two cans of Tyre Weld as a get me home. I still have the spare in the fornt just in case (see Paul C's referenced light front end!! :) :) ) However I would need the jack to take some of the weight off said flat tyre in order to fill it full of tyre weld gunge!

Funnily enough, they only ever had Scimitars in the showroom as the Reliant representative. Besides the Reliant Regal and Lotus have a lot in common. Both are fibreglass bodied on steel chassis, running light-alloy engines of their own design and bult by a small, specialist company in an area away from most of the motor industry. OK, I've run out of similarities there.

Hope they get fixed new GT40, it's sad that problem is some fishbones ;) sounds really reliable :)

Am I the only one who thinks this Marcos Mantara is bit wierd looking car?

I've never really liked them :)

they are a bit amateurish looking, but they aren't ugly. a few corrections, and they could be beautiful in an odd way.

Maybe they could be beautiful in some way, hard to say cause I've never seen any Marcos at live. I think there aren't any here in Finland.

All the photos I've seen from them looked a bit wierd.

That bottom one is bonkers!

Looks like a cross between a Lola and a Countach at the front... and a GT40 and a Countach at the back!

This is what the Marcos 1800 looked like before all the horrible add ons ruined it ;)

Designed by Dennis Adams it was really a quite radical design when it was new(mid 60s) :)

Came with a Volvo 1800 engine at first :)

It's a bit like the Porsche 911. The basic shape was OK then it kept getting bulges and spoilers and got ugly.

The local garage I wrote about used to have a Marcos Mantis in the showroom just before it switched to Fiat. That wasn't a pretty car.

I have never seen any GT40  :P But I have heard rumours that in next week's Historic Grand Race (here in Ahvenisto track) is new GT40 as a pace car  :) And one Ferrari 250 Daytona  :)

This Historic Grand Race is the same happening where I met my car at first time as for sale  :) (last year).

I will take some photos in next weekend  :P Let's hope weather is any better than in this week (it's raining the whole week).

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

So here's that Ferrari Daytona Spider:

And like I earlier said no GT40 :P maybe next year.

39 odd posts on this thread have had nothing to do with the Jack (off) subject. :)

You moderators should be ashamed of yourselves. :P

This kind of thing would not have happened on Unity (big moderator stick) :):)

That aint a Daytona Spyder, Its a Mac.Burnie coachcraft 1970s Corvette conversion. :P

They did the Miami Vice car. :)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

My first reaction was: it looks like old corvette :)

It looked nothing like "normal" Ferraris I'm used to see, although I don't see many Ferraris here :)
