haha, well, not yet. But might have you look at it at some point if you are available... looking forwards to seeing the condition of these tanks when you remove them!

Absolutely. They share many common components.  It's why I'm buying one; I'm already tooled up.

Would you believe the 4-cyl shares the same cam belt? Astonishing.

It certainly is.  I probably do 2 or 3 a year, mostly G-cars, but a few earlier Stevens are now failing.  Latest one I've done so far is 1992.

To be fair, 30 years on a tank is pretty good!

Evira?

But remember one thing: don't lose your head to a woman that'll spend your bread: Lotus Turbo Esprit (89-11); Lotus Esprit GT3 (12-14): Lotus Evora S (14-17); Lotus Esprit V8 SE "UK Last 15" (18-...)

Waiting for the new tanks for my 1995 car. Not really looking forward to the job a whole lot...

Given you've replaced more tanks than most, is there much of a difference in materials, fabrication, and even sizing between the various ones available? Asking for a friend who thinks he's likely to have to get this job done sometime soon on an S3.

Who is the manufacture of this tanks.

Good job!

Thanks.

Hey Colin!   I tend to judge them by function rather than form.  Pretty much a given that any new tanks will outlast us lot, so I'm happy with tanks supplied by SJ Sportscars.  They're a small percentage smaller, which makes them easier to fit, and they're ally, so job's a good 'un.  They might not be the prettiest, but you won't be looking at them ever again.  If you want amazing workmanship, I believe a guy calling himself Axminster ( @Chillidoggy will confirm/correct  ) makes some stunning quality stuff out of stainless, but last time I enquired there was a pretty long wait, and he might not even be doing them any more.

I hope your friend finds this informative... 😉

Long term strategy for fuels here in Canada is shaping up with a focus on reduced carbon intensity, with climate change driving the issue. Seems likely we may see higher percentages of ethanol in the petrol blends as consequence so I fancy building the fuel system with some further concerns for corrosion, preferring stainless over aluminum for the tanks.

Cheers

My tanks were made by Axminster Specialist Panels, guy’s name is Andy. Not cheap, but quality like I’ve not seen before. I’m not sure whether they are still available, however.
