I saw a comment on another forum that asked if his booster seat was part of the 350 sale :)

His classic car business has been running for a while just up the road from where I work, using a rally car prep father & son team, but he’s got a purpose built unit under construction a couple of miles away apparently.

I wonder why as I'm sure he's not short of a few bob. Perhaps to make space.

He is quoted as selling some of his collection to fund the expansion of his classic  car business...intending to save more cars (and make more money I guess)

I was at the auction and it was a guy with his wife that bought it. He didn't look like a dealer but then again, what does a dealer look like ?

There was another guy in the room who was biding as well but he dropped out at about £55k.

The car did look immaculate though, both inside and out. I didn't check underneath 🙃

Hammond's Bentley S2 went for £29k which seemed a good price to me. It was a mightily impressive car. Again, excellent condition other than the usual cracking in the leather. Not split, just nicely patina'd. The front grill was a thing of glistening beauty. You may need a petrol station to run it though.

Anyone betting what the dealer will be putting it up for sale at?

Too dear for a dealer

Price paid was nearer £67000 which is a fair price and more than a dealer would pay
