Giniw
Well honestly I've been to a few auctions for used tools in workshops and sometimes you are just lucky and no one in the audience is interested by what you need. Or just there are enough samples for everyone to be happy and so there is no real competition. For instance a friend of mine bought an old sad looking lawnmower for a couple of euros. You won't believe me: nobody bided, and at the end we had ... a good laugh lol (it actually started so not totally useless \o/)

purso
I was heavily considering the sport 300 but didn't know that the car had been damaged, on its own wouldn't be put off, the main issues are really all the aftermarket bits the twin exhausts etc. Also the colour change has put me off, be interested to see what it settles at though. purso
sport 300 hit 60k which may or may not be the auction company themselves bidding to stimulate activity. They should of done a better job of being transparent about the history and it may have done better.
Viper
I also think the amount of time it took these cars to go live was an issue, most interested parties died waiting. But also gave time for everyone to do their research which is ok if a car is squeaky clean

Popular Post Mark Blanchard
Looks like The Market have been too ambitious with their valuations / reserve prices. It's also the wrong time of year to sell too, going into Autumn / Winter. 4 Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com
Essex Metallic
I've been watching these auctions with interest having just bought my first Esprit. The Essex Turbo looked magnificent. I'm surprised the reserves were set so high on the GT and Sport 350. Are vendors over-valuing Esprits at the moment? Everything listed S$ or later seems to be £35K+. mike_sekinger
It is very rare to get your money back on a full restoration. LOTUSMAN33
Some shocking figures with an Essex only fetching £2k more than a JPS! What is going on with the classic market at the moment? Strange times and seems to be a buyers market 🙄 Is it seasonal? Is it the whole EV thing? Dave 1 Quote Do or do not, there is no try! The prices are stronger than ever they should be as well. Privately and off market though - I’ve had a couple of offers of possible cars. 1 Quote Only here once
