Tyres For 1987 S3 Esprit Turbo HC

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I desperately need a new set of tyres for my Esprit. As you all probably know the original fit were Goodyear NCT's 235/60 R15 rear and 195/60 R15 front but they have been obsolete for a very long time. I currently have some very old NCT’s of the above size on the front and some very old Pirelli P600 235/60 R15 on the rear. The P600’s are still a production tyre but are not available anywhere at this time and Pirelli cannot provide even a production schedule. I really don’t want to fit the Goodrich TA or Cobra as neither is the correct load rating. Has anyone tried the below or have any other recommendations?

Rear - Avon CR6ZZ 245/60 R15 101V. Front Avon CR6ZZ 215/60 R15 94V or 185/70 R15 89V.

Rear - Avon CR6ZZ 245/60 R15 101V. Front Avon ZV7 195/60 R15 88V.

Hi @Brian Harvey

I had the Falkens Ziex ZE310 Ecorun 195/60R15 88V and 225/60R15 96W to fitted my Wedge HC last year and I am well happy with them, and the profile and look suits the car.

Plus only they were only £300 odd at the time, all in fitted and balanced etc from Pro-tyre (who own/import Falken tyres)
