bosshog
So I put a deposit down the day after launch, but given the roadshows are a days drive away from Norfolk and all mid working week there is no way I can go see them it seems unfortunately. So I'm not going to spend 76K on a car I've never seen and given there won't be any cars about until Spring next year there seems no point in Lotus keeping my money. Anyone know the process of getting it back?
Gold FFM Evotion Posted September 20, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 20, 2021 Speak to the dealer first but send a contact for to HQ. [email protected] is one of their emails. There is also a live chat at the bottom of the main site at https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/contact-us/ where you will also see some other contact points. I understand your issue. We know it looks good and will drive well but many people will simply need to 'feel' it to justify such a spend. I get that. It is not going anywhere. You can always come back with an own-spec build once it is out and about and you can drive it, Still... imagine that feeling when you see one on the road and you haven't got one... go on.. you only live once. 😃 [edit] Somebody will want that deposit!!! If you can swap it out to another member on here then they will be delighted. 1 Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. My Emira Videos | Into Motorcycles? PAR
I am amazed they don’t add a day of roadshow at the factory. That would be much easier for you. can’t someone suggest it?
Gold FFM Evotion Posted September 20, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 20, 2021 I had been thinking that but it dawned on me that the car is so damn popular that it might just be a logistic exercise too far right now. I hope and expect Lotus to offer some sort of visit/experience day at some point in 2022. 1 Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. My Emira Videos | Into Motorcycles? Popular Post bosshog
Just been contacted by Lotus and they tell me there will Hethel/more local options to viewing the car coming soon for those of us in Norfolk who can't get over to the other places. So I'll hold off for now.

Stirling_Villeneuve
I just had a call from Lotus, all very helpful but a year's too long to wait for the AMG engined car so I've asked for the deposit back. Lotus have sent an email asking for confirmation and the order number, seems simple enough. It's a shame, I'm sure it'll be a great car. 1 Quote Currently having an illicit affair with another marque, be back in the fold one day... Gold FFM Evotion Posted September 23, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 23, 2021 Oh nooo. Sad but understandable. Can you not leave the deposit with them and secure an instant place on the own-spec i4 cars should you change your mind later on? Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. Stirling_Villeneuve
That was an option but with delivery's for the i4's at least a year off I knew I'd get itchy, especially as the warranty's up on my current car in the months so I'll probably end up actively looking around or pay the extended cost. I feel sad about it but I've no doubt I'll be back in a Lotus sometime, soon..... ish. Quote Currently having an illicit affair with another marque, be back in the fold one day... Gold FFM Evotion Posted September 28, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 28, 2021 Just to point out one thing... D O N O T G E T A R E F U N D O F Y O U R D E P O S I T !! Okay - if you must get that money back to counter life;s issues then fair enough but if you can leave it there it puts you in an excellent position for when you ARE ready to pounce on an Emira, If you pull out and later hear the car is every bit as good as it looks and you then want want one you will go to the back of a VERY long queue. Go and get that other car in the meantime. Hell, even get a pesky common Cayman but do not give up your interest in the Emira. You have come this far. Yes, it is a wait, and the wait looks to be extending but it will be worth it. I am convinced that the talk around this car in 2022 will be HUGE. 1 Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. Gold FFM Nimbus-in-Notts Posted September 28, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 28, 2021 An awful lot of new cars have 12 months wait, even some of the mainstream motors so it seems crazy to pull a deposit just down to timing issues if you’re looking for something new to market. Where ever you decide to buy a more ‘specialist’ car, there’s bound to be a wait. Might as well leave it in a queue for the best looking one…….
Badger77
I’d happily challenge this… if you don’t want the car or purely going to flip it, get out of the queue! If you are genuinely concerned, what you signed up for is not necessarily what you are likely to get until further confirmation, then fair enough!
