Saw that story on bbc, it is obviously not a petrol tanker and I like the comment by some dick head following who said

You could have stopped and told us you weren't a petrol tanker," he said.

and the driver says

"I didn't notice initially but then on the dual carriageway, I noticed nobody was overtaking me and saw a string of about 20 cars behind me," he said.

"When I eventually turned left into a road that would take me to the site entrance, all these cars turned left with me."

reminds me of the local story where someone got on the end of a 2 hour petrol queue only to find when they got near the front they were in the queue for the local tip

I've been siphoning a gallon or two out of each Lotus I've been at over the last two weeks, and now have enough to see me through to Christmas.

Yes, but have you got enough 10W/60 engine oil to tide you over until retirement?

Margate Exotics.

As it goes, I've just taken delivery of a rather large vat of the stuff!  Came in handy today.

British Fart to Florida, Nude to New York, Dunce to Denmark, Numpty to Newfoundland.  And Shitfaced Silly Sod to Sweden.

Very Mad Max like.

I was thinking the exact same thing! What if some moron decides to try and cut the truck off to make sure he gets his petrol?

As an aside, another great example of the BBC getting the facts right: the truck wasn't transporting 44 tonnes of mortar, it had a GVW of 44 tonnes, which means it was carrying around 30 tonnes of mortar. Not a big deal in itself maybe, but if they can't get those (obvious) details correct, why should we believe the rest?

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

As I said in another thread drove Scotland to Rugby on Friday. Been driving around Rugby/Coventry area and seen no queues or shut petrol stations. Got fuel, currently 3/4 tank full and not worried I won't get fuel to fill up tomorrow. Yup density of the population seems to be the issue and our southern friends seem the denser / most selfish of the lot. I don't know whether to laugh or cry to be honest.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

Danny’s car is half full - he has his driving test in it the end of the week. There is fuel availability around here - but it can be a bit of a gamble if it’s there or not. The car had a tank of super in it last time since no one wants to use that.

As for diesel - which I do need in my work vehicle - that’s looking very unavailable at all forecourts I’ve been past in the last couple of days. It’s frankly a pain in the ass.

Went up the M1 yesterday junction 15a filled up £45 on way on in firm's van in BP no q and £45 on way back in the opposite BP again no q

Oh and the price for standard diesel £1.56 a liter glad I'm not paying.

They had petrol and diesel at Cobham services on the M25 but big queue

Locally the government have been trying to help out rural folk who can't get hold of diesel to do their jobs by going out in force and dipping tanks for red diesel!

Hope they don't visit one of my neighbours then... We only have petrol cars now.

Was the switch to green fuel behind the petrol crisis? Retailers blame low stock on switchover to E10 fuel as they demand inquiry into forecourt chaos

Now isn’t the time to be doing that. An utter disgrace.
