Popular Post Snorkel
UK road shows start the day after tomorrow and colour samples should be available when the car is displayed. In this topic you can post your pictures of those colour samples, starting with the six colours for the First Edition. In later stages the additional colour pics can also be posted here. This extra topic can be useful to create an entire database only for colours. All pictures of the Emira samples are more then welcome: day light pics, night time, artificial light, foggy day, all kind of angles... With a little luck we'll get a collection that can help others decide what colour to choose. I'm waiting forward the see the first pictures! 🙂 Edited September 26, 2021 by Snorkel
Gold FFM Popular Post Evotion Posted September 26, 2021 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted September 26, 2021 Cool. As a reference point - this is how each First Edition colour looks on the current configurator. I suspect that these are only somewhat close - perhaps only yellow being the nearest to the real thing. Seneca Blue Nimbus Grey Shadow Grey Dark Verdant Hethel Yellow Magma Red 3 Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. My Emira Videos | Into Motorcycles? philnotts
Can't wait to see the Green and Red... My wild card choice is Nimbus Grey!
Gold FFM Evotion Posted September 27, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 27, 2021 I'm currently looking at Red and Yellow but if that Green is better looking live then that might take over. I do like the Nimbus with black pack and I think it will look great on the road if we see one next year, Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. My Emira Videos | Into Motorcycles? simonb
Have a play on the Evija configurator if you want sexy colours (tbf, there is probably more margin for paint in that model)
Gold FFM MJON Posted September 27, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 27, 2021 Definitely think the brighter colours enhance the lines. My first choice initially was the Seneca blue as I previously had Daytona blue and loved it. Although can agree that Nimbus with the black pack and yellow callipers will look classy. Just need to see it in the flesh.
Mickle
I'm thinking bright too, but still completely torn between blue, red & yellow... If anyone is able to get some good photos of the paint samples (ideally outside), I should be able to do some more tinkering in Photoshop to match the colours.
Gold FFM Popular Post Evotion Posted September 27, 2021 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted September 27, 2021 Ha, you can rest assured that I will be videoing the panels/bowls extensively in all conditions. I expect to have a GoPro in one hand and the colour plate in another as I run down the road making engine noises. 😁 2 1 4 Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. duncx
I'm planning to print off the colours from the configurator (will use the images above - thanks!) then take them with me to the viewing for comparison to the real samples. If the configurator looks very close to the real colours then I know I can use it with confidence to make my choice. Hopefully
Gold FFM Evotion Posted September 27, 2021 Gold FFM Report Share Posted September 27, 2021 Sounds like a plan. At least the Blue is known and is nice. The yellow is the safest option overall. I am not convinced the test paints tomorrow will really help me but I will try my best to visualise it. Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. My Emira Videos | Into Motorcycles? marclurr
What time is the event tomorrow? I'm excited for it and I won't even be there. Having to wait 'til November for my turn
exeterjeep
One hour slots starting at 10am until last one 4pm-5pm. I was told between 10-12 people at each slot was supposed to be the max.

Gold FFM Popular Post Evotion Posted September 27, 2021 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted September 27, 2021 No, it is a personal event hosted by Lotus dealers for those who have placed deposits. It is not a televised event. Basically, a second chance to get up close to the car (no driving, no starting, no engine ) and look at paint samples and perhaps learn a few new things. I will video it and then I will add that on here so others can see the paint samples and anything else that is new. 4 2 Quote If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it. Mickle
I'm sure this will be a busy thread later with better pictures & videos coming in, but here's an initial look. One of the Lotus marketing chaps kindly posted this in one of the facebook groups. First thoughts... Magma Red is much brighter than I expected and I do like Nimbus Grey, feels similar to Porsche's Crayon or a lighter Nardo which is a nice modern option.

It then seems very dark, it's a pity...
Beady
i am struggling to pick a colour based on these samples. The blue doesn't stand out in the samples but looks stunning in the flesh and the 'dark grey' looks almost black in real life but much light on the samples - this really illustrates the risk if you cannot see the whole car in your colour. agree red is much brighter than expected and the green much darker. bring on motorsport green or evora 'hethel edition' blue Quote construction and property consultants : My company
Nick in Sydney
Need to see some more photos . . . Shadow Grey looks much lighter than it did in real life at Goodwood Blue looks about right, but the sample loses the glamour and impact of the real car Red looks absolutely nothing like the configurator; very bright, almost Ferrari red Nimbus is the surprise . . . looks much nice than the configurator. It's a very light colour, perhaps similar to Porsche's arctic silver or rhodium silver Green looks very hard to photograph Edited September 28, 2021 by Nick in Sydney
marclurr
Hopefully someone can get some better shots (looking forward to Ade's promised video). From this picture alone though I'm quite disappointed, I'm now erring towards blue out of caution as I can't picture what the other's will look like on the car. Bibs
I'm surprised that was released, it's not really a good indication of the colours as everyone seems to agree. 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Jl47
Those colours are so disappointing. If they really look like that then I'm going to cancel and wait for some nice ones.

Emiralust
This is why the marketing team should release proper photos of the paint because that is a sub par photo. Don't panic guys wait for a video showing light directly on each one. @Evotion is getting this and I'm seeing it tonight so if nobody puts one up yet I will
LotusLeftLotusRight
They all look very flat to me. The green looks like a primary school kid has brush painted it. Anyone who was at Goodwood knows that the dark grey looks nothing like that. I would reserve your judgment until you see the colours with your own eyes if I was you.
