Welcome @Eagle7, great to have you here.  We're always happy to share.

We're lucky to have the UK dealer roadshows having started last week, so are getting a lot of info from people seeing the car and asking questions of the Lotus staff.  There's a lot of useful info being posted, plus of course queries and a few unanswered questions some of us are trying to follow up.  More will no doubt come from the remaining roadshows through Oct into early Nov, before the US roadshows in Nov.

If you get the chance, pop over to the Introductions area and tell everyone about yourself and your cars

What’s the LotusCars forum?

An error.  I fixed it.  It was supposed to be LotusTalk.

Those samples in concave are rubbish. They don’t show the colours very well at all.

I’ve posted before this pic I took of them in convex (I think @TomE has one too) which shows them much better.

Were the windows of the dealership tinted, which is why the colors look somewhat subdued?

My convex pic was taken with light through the same window so shouldn’t be the difference.

I think the concave view just doesn’t do the colours justice.

Great to have you! Absolutely, while working on the initial render for green I did experiment with it being brighter, which actually looks really good. I'm just worried the actual car will be much darker, I am going to go back to the green and have another go now there are more videos floating around, it's really tricky to turn the bright blue press car into such a dark metallic colour!

Mickle.. your a superstar… could I have a link to the hi res full yellow (if you have the chance to do black wheels too) - i may have a new background on my Mac 😁

Not sure if this may help:

Had a reply from Lotus regarding the colour discrepancies in the configurator; Hethel yellow and Nimbus grey are the only two none metallic, solid colours.

Also asked if there was any chance of seeing an Emira in Nimbus, or Verdant at the factory or elsewhere. At the present time visits to the factory are not permitted because of covid🤔.

Hi Neil, I think they might have miss-informed you there. I've seen the paint samples and Nimbus grey is definitely metallic and shiny shiny. The Yellow is a solid colour. If you go through this thread we've posted lots of pictures of the paint samples:

Yes I agree that Nimbus looks metallic on the bowls and like others have spent countless hours scouting forums and the internet trying to get to the bottom of this colour nonsense. I do think that the configurator is a shambles as regards the colour discrepancies.

I'm currently emailing them for confirmation either way and will ask if they can give a close match to say, the current Evora colours etc.

I was pretty late to the deposit party, the day after Goodwood, so I'm slightly hopeful that I might be able to change my spec after seeing some real pictures given it could be another 6 months after initial deliveries or more for me. I know the next deposit 'locks-in' the spec, but I would presume there is some flexibility for those being built late into 2022.

I must have changed my mind three times on the paint for my current car, I certainly don't envy those at the front of the queue!

I'm in a real quandary as regards colour choice but will pursue Lotus till I get a more definitive outcome.

Your renderings in photo shop are excellent, perhaps Lotus could benefit from your help.

Well, I did find the samples very helpful.

Red and Nimbus for me.

No black pack on either.

Yellow callipers on both.

Just not sure on the wheels.

If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it.

I agree it is poor Lotus haven't made more of an effort to get a different Emira than the blue launch car to the roadshows. They asking us commit to parting with a very large sum of money on the basis of seeing an unfinished non-runner. I understand not being able to drive the car as they still have to go through final homologation and testing, but I don't think it is too much to expect to see a car with production seats, production ride height, and preferably in a different colour. Having said that, I still can't wait to see it.

They're building 86 cars for various validations and certifications.  I assume those have to have the correct (production) ride height and seat, at least for crash test purposes.  They're all being painted "crash test blue" but presumably six could have been painted the First Edition colours and photographed before crashing them.

I thought the same and wondered whether they hadn't actually finalised the exact paint colours for each in time. I hadn't even considered going non-black pack until doing renders people had requested, I haven't really seen a bad spec yet. I think green with silver wheels will still look great in person (watch this space...).

Funny you say that, at the B&C roadshow one of the Lotus chaps said they have seen Verdant Green on the production line.

Ah, news to me. Sounds too early.

This may mean early journo cars might be on different colours. This wont help us early adopters though.
