Do people remove the oil cooler sandwich plate in one or remove the 2 pipes and leave plate in situ?

Remove the oil pipes and leave the filter housing in place.

okay everything is off bar the AC compressor.  Which appears to be a PITA to remove.  What is the easiest way please.

Does anyone know the approximate weight of the engine and gearbox. Close to getting it out.

Engine is approx 220Kg and the gearbox an additional 65Kg

Thx. How do most people lift the engine using a hoist?  Fixing points location?

You really need to get a copy of the Service Notes.  You should be reading and referencing that before jumping in.

There are lifting tools that attach to the cylinder heads.  You may also want to employ a balance bar to help keep the load even.

Hahahaha.   No, that is one of my elder kids.  I try and stay out of the photos if possible.

Mike, me too although I did start doing some.....amateur's video's on Youtube about my cars and some repairs.  Passin Gas Garage is the name.  You need to have on the close caption stuff.....so that I can correct my verbal mistakes.  The most looked at video are the Esprit Video's.  I do it all from memory and well..........  Love the tool hanger board that you have, just makes sense!!!!!!

Ok engine and gearbox now out. 

Clutch and fly wheel have heat spots. Fly wheel looks to have been machined at least once already.  Can it be done again and should the bolt mounts have been machine down too to keep the pressure the same?

PNM offer a flywheel refurbishment service.  Yes, the clutch mounting needs to be machined to retain the correct step.

Just be aware if they are re-manufactured.

Anyone know the nut size for the Turbos to manifold?  Don’t really want to spend nearly £48 on 8 nuts!
