Popular Post Woodie
I thought it was time to show the Elan Plus Two, after 32 years of on-off restoration. Those who were at the Little Easton Manor breakfast meeting would have seen it. I'm very grateful to everyone at Spydercars, without their help, the car would never have been finished, ( if classic Lotus is ever truly finished). The look of the car is as close as possible the original JPS colours and keeping the classic Lotus twin cam. Some internal changes make the car a bit more modern i,e Fuel injection, Leather interior, MX5 heated seats. uprated radiator, Zetec bigger fuel tank. jonwat
Absolutely stunning, confused about the fuel injection though they look like Webers to me Quote Cheers, John W http://jonwatkins.co.uk
Woodie
Hi John. Definitely fuel injection. https://store.jenvey.co.uk/throttle-bodies-and-components/throttle-bodies/heritage-dcoe Starts first time, no fuss. Not the cheapest thing especially with the Emerald ECU. https://www.emeraldm3d.com/ The fuel pump has been relocated to the boot just under the tank, which is now the bigger Zetec size. Woodie
I may run something similar in the S2 when I get to that point! Tony

jonwat
Looks a beautiful paint job, was the black with gold roof & sills the original JPS colour scheme? Quote Cheers, John W http://jonwatkins.co.uk
Woodie
Hi Yes, it's original colour scheme. One of the approximate 115 JPS built. They were not numbered like the later Esprit's. As the cars were manufactured in odd batch sizes🤔. So working back the chassis numbers mine would be in the mid 80s of this amount

Now I know she's number 57. 🙂 Seeing yours makes me eager to start work on her and get her back into shape! The gold roof is definitely an eyecatcher and most people can't resist to touch it as it doesn't look smooth (but is). Quote I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.
Woodie
Hi Great news that you have a JPS, and that it will be saved. I think that the Elan +2 is beautiful to drive, its such a shame it is not as well regarded as the 2 seater Tony
jonwat
Clever selfie in the mirror 🤣 The trimming also look pretty damned good, it wouldn't have looked that good when it left the factory 😀 Quote Cheers, John W http://jonwatkins.co.uk
