For Sale – 1994 50th Anniversary Esprit S4

Recommended Posts

For sale is my 50th Anniversary Lotus Esprit S4.

The car is Calypso Red over a Raven (black) interior.

I am the third owner.

The car only has just over 51,000k genuine km’s on it.

Car has only been used since then to keep everything moving.

The car has always been garaged and covered.

Registration is paid to 23rd September 2022.

  • I have had all of the stone chips repaired in the paintwork in March 2020. The car has done very few km’s on the road since to preserve the paintwork for the new owner. PPF film has been redone as per the Lotus original film.
  • The car comes with a matching composite roof and wind deflector. Both of these have been repainted as well. I have also purchased the correct seal material for when the composite roof is on the car. This is brand new and has not been installed. There is also a genuine sunroof bag.

  • All of the leather in the car is genuine and in excellent condition. There is some slight wear on the drivers seat rear RH bolster
  • All original carpets in the cabin and the boot of the car are in excellent condition.

  • The car also has the original owners manual.
  • Short version of the Lotus service manual.
  • ABS brake system manual.
  • The original jack, spare wheel and toolkit in its case are also with the car.
  • Test rig for the ABS brake system that is on the car. This was sourced from LotusMarques in Boronia.
  • New AC drier & camshaft seals.

The following has been done to the car.

C Service carried out in December 2019.

  • Engine valve clearances have been recorded and are all ok.
  • Timing belt was replaced. Belt tensioner also replaced.
  • All v-belts replaced.
  • Power steering pump has been replaced.
  • Gearbox output shaft seals have been replaced. Rolled pins have been replaced and sealed.
  • All brake pads were checked as part of the C service. All are ok.
  • Air filter was replaced.
  • All primary and secondary injectors have been removed, serviced and all seals replaced.
  • Engine oil replaced. Oil filter replaced.
  • Gearbox oil replaced.
  • Power steering fluid replaced.
  • Coolant replaced with distilled water and treated with Redline Water Wetter.
  • The car has 4 new tyres. Bridgestone Potenza RE003 all round.

  • EBPV butterfly and shaft have been removed as not required in Australia.
  • The mechanical charge cooler pump has been replaced with an electric pump kit sourced from LotusMarques in Boronia, Victoria.
  • Coolant bottle has a new level sender.

  • Drivers side door window winding regulator had caused damage to the door structure. The damage was cut out and the door has been repaired with fibreglass and the window regulator has been reinstalled.
  • The undertray of the car is also in place and in excellent condition.

Suspension & steering:

  • All front wishbone bushings have been replaced.
  • Rear shock absorber shock to body rubbers have been replaced.
  • Ball joint dust seals and retaining springs have been replaced.

Brakes & Clutch:

  • The red hose on the car has been replaced with a copper line from the clutch master cylinder to the clutch slave cylinder.
  • Self-adjusting handbrake mechanisms on both sides of the car have been overhauled.
  • Aluminium plates have been installed on the lower front wishbones to assist with diverting air to the brakes to aid in cooling.
  • This model year was fitted with the Brembo brakes from Lotus.

  • The car has just had a new battery installed. (RACV. Receipt for warranty is in the paperwork)
  • Headlight relay has been changed to a double throw so that all four lights are on when hi-beam is selected.

  • Air conditioning. There is a leak somewhere in the system which I have not been able to find. Even with UV dye in the system, myself and the A/C company that I was using (WA) were unable to ascertain where the leak was.
  • The CD player had just ceased to function. Radio still works. I have not replaced the single DIN unit, as generally people are quite particular as to what functions they want a new unit to have, so I will leave this to the new owner.

No tyrekickers. I expect you to know what you are looking at and the history of Lotus cars.

I will not entertain people that are thinking they will be getting a joyride.

Without a doubt, this has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever had the pleasure of owning and driving.

It is only due to a change in my personal circumstances that the car is now for sale.

I am listing the car for $95,000

I can assure any new owner, that I sincerely believe that you will enjoy this Esprit.

This may be the lowest kilometre Esprit S4 in Australia.
