Benmac was awarded the badge 'Great Content' Apologies if this is common knowledge but I failed to find anything. The rubber lanyard on my Evora's fuel cap had degraded and was on the cusp of breaking. From Lotus you can buy the whole cap assembly but not just the lanyard. Did a bit of digging and managed to suss out that it's a JLR part. Same basic cap set up is on loads of Jags and Land Rovers. JLR don't sell the lanyards either but you can get them on ebay or even better I found these chaps who are a LR specialist who make their own. For a couple of quid more than ebay that seemed a better bet. It arrived, fitted in a couple of minutes, perfect. https://www.powerfuluk.com/jaguar-xf-fuel-filler-cap-replacement-tether-strap.html 5 1
exeterjeep
Looks to be a useful find, the company do a number of exterior trim parts for a range of JLR cars. I sent them an email some months ago about side trim pieces for the current evoque.
Ba55uma
Great find, is there a repository to store information for such finds, it would be good to add to it

Cdm2018
Didn’t even know a tether came with fuel cap , I have been putting it on top of the car as reminder need to order this as one I am likely to drive off forgetting the cap ! 😳

A nice little touch with the added bonus you cannot forget to put the cap back on as the flap would not go down. Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies! The first guy to ride a bull for fun, was a true hero. The second man to follow him was truly nuts! LotusLeftLotusRight
Never managed to get the cap to sit firmly on its lug when refuelling. Always feels like it’s about to fall off again. Am I doing something wrong?

Cdm2018
Help please I can’t get the first ring off the cap any options ? I have tried to twist it but it spins I haven’t a tool that grips onto it any ideas ? Thanks
AdeMorton
Just use a flat bladed screwdriver to gently prise it off, working your way round the ring as you do. This will help...

Cdm2018
Hooray ! I did it which is a real accomplishment for me however what’s the small arrow shaped thing on the round fuel cap which flips up when you press the button ? I thought it would be where you rest the fuel cap on the cable but it’s too short ?
Bibs
That's where the fuel cap sits when you're filling up. There's a little lip it fits on to. 2 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators.
