Ba55uma
One of the key fobs for my Evora s is quite temperamental and has a mind of its own. It doesn't lock the car sometimes ( no particular pattern) . I tried replacing the battery etc but still does the same. It's not end of the world,.The second key works perfectly all the time. Any thoughts anyone, before I take it to the dealership?
Bibs
Might be worth another battery. Ones that you buy may have been on a shelf for a few years so could be a dud, do you have a tester? Other than that, there's not much in a key to go wrong in truth, might be a dry joint or just plain old worn out if it's not the battery? 1 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Colin P
A total key failure at 6 months old is the only thing that has ever left me stranded in either of my Evoras. Totally kaput - new key provided under warranty. The only reason I didn't end up on the back of a recovery truck is due to a certain @Bibs contacting the factory and obtaining the manual deactivation code for my car from them. (Try getting that sort of service from Porsche) 1 Quote Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable. Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone. Ba55uma
I tried with couple of new batteries. Both same result. They work well in the second key fob. The car is under warranty, I will take it to the nearest dealership. But just wanted to check if there is anyone else who had this issue and had a simple fix. 48 minutes ago, Colin P said: A total key failure at 6 months old is the only thing that has ever left me stranded in either of my Evoras. exeterjeep
If you know someone with a key fob tester, eg it may be that it is no longer transmitting properly. Sounds like a trip to the dealer.
