Gold FFM thebartman Posted January 4 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 4 Does anyone have an image/diagram of the brake light switch at the top of the pedal box - I can't determine from my manual if mine is supposed to be a "Twist" or "Push/Pull" version - and it needs checking - I certainly don't want to be upside-down-lotus-postition trying to pull a "Twist" switch . Thanks ...
williamtherebel
Its just an 'off/on' switch. Brake down it switches the brake lights on. Foot off the brake pedal it switches off.
TAR
screw in (will also have a plastic nut) - https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/SJ036M0029.htm twist (fitted to later cars) - https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/SJ089M0002.htm Quote It's getting there...... CarBuff
It seems commo0n for late Esprits (SE, on up?) to have the brake switch loosen. That can be fixed with a stout zip-tie. Get in the habit of looking back to the car whenever you exit. 1. To admire the beautiful styling. 😍 2. To assure the brake lights are OFF. 😁 2 Quote Atwell Haines '88 Esprit Succasunna, NJ USA

snowrx
I tried to get a photo of my 85's switch in place, but I would need to pull out a bunch of ducts to get to it and I gave up. Looks like an endoscope job!
