Handling - Lotus takes a narrow victory (but the average Joe public wouldn't really be able to tell the difference) Which would I buy with my own money - very close; if you want looks and rarity value, choose Lotus, but on balance, Cayman probably wins on a split decision (because reviews tend to play it safe). have I missed anything? or am I wildly out? Don't think we need the reviews you just summarised them all I reckon! I want to know what it ends up weighing in a spec that people will actually order though and how it compares to the Evora.
jerzybondov
I reckon that sounds about right - although the engine comments only apply to the 4.0 flat six in the Cayman GTS. The Toyota V6 should easily beat the Cayman fours which all journos hate.
simonb
The interesting one for me will be the i4 review, whenever that happens, and it will be fairly soon in other languages where that is the only product One must assume that it will also follow the emira v cayman comparison

AK70
Cayman GTS 4.0 vs Emira Engine: GTS Gearbox: Emira (GTS gearing is to long) Looks: Emira Unterior: Both not great, 911 would be it Handling: I hope this is where the Emira shines.. if not, the best handling Lotus remains the Evora.. 😉 Let‘s see.. but I am much more interested how it compares to the different Evoras Models. For the Emira I4 vs Cayman S: Greater chance for Lotus to beat the Cayman, as everybody hates the 4cylinder Porsche. jerzybondov
One interesting question is what chassis Lotus specced for the press cars… I think they’ll have gone with sport, but let’s see!
Techyd
Good point, but of the red and yellow press cars, I hope it is one of each.

Gold FFM DaveC72 Posted June 7, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted June 7, 2022 Love it. There will be some who are going to zero in on the slight grumbles, but if this is the shape of things to come - then bring it on.
Gold FFM TdM Posted June 7, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted June 7, 2022 I suspect the rev ceiling mentioned is another 'sports mode' situation. Unless it's locked for running in
yeller77
Quote Indeed there's so much grip that you'll surely not broach it on the road, and with that comes our slight disappointment with the Emira. It's mostly operating so far within itself that it has lost some of the traditional Lotus cornering involvement. You don't feel enough nuances of the tires working beneath you. Oof 😕
Bibs
But also... Quote That means you feel intimately connected with the tires as they ride road markings, or change weighting over crests or dips. Popular Post Emiralust
Long story short, he couldn't pick between the two but went with the Porsche as the gearstick isn't as stiff and it has a front boot. Doesn't mention road presence or how common a cayman is, does anyone care if a Cayman goes by? Pretty sure the Lotus blows the Porsche out of the water when you add that into the mix.

Popular Post stephenwhyte
Harry’s review is simply more favourable as he treats it as the “road car” it’s designed to be. The EVO review to me had no point……they’re obsessed with testing at Anglesey - why? It’s not a track car……yes it can be used on track and will no doubt be good fun, but it’s a road car and according to Harry, “the Lotus I’ve always wanted” - great to hear! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The review I want to watch as well as Harry’s, is Mr Catchpole’s - another sensible knowledgable fair-minded reviewer…..I do think his thoughts will be similar to H.M’s👍
