Saw the messages and just put a post on LEC, thought you were saying £250.

There is still a red SE for sale locally at a trader, but MOT has expired.

Meanwhile my S2 is at a trimmers for a new hood. He has also found that the SE and S2 have slightly different hoods. He checked this with SJ, although SJ just list one part number for the hood. So it is taking him longer than expected to do mine. He has another M100 booked in for next week.

The S2 hood has an extended gusset for getting rid of moistness 😛

Well it just means that rather than fitting a hood he ready over a couple of days, he will use mine to make a new pattern. But does not sound too different. But will take closer to a week.

Did have a quick look at a red SE near me, but a wet day stored outside but under a cover.

This is what I'm on about Keith http://forum.lotuselancentral.com/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=25943&p=329265&hilit=+S2+hood+#p329265

I take it you are fitting new seals to your new hood. Or are you using the old ones?

I am not doing anything...(usually try to avoid doing anything) ..

Have got the new header seal (quite expensive) from SWLC a new RH intermediate seal and a free LH intermediate one as it was slightly damaged and they would have chucked it. They had stuck a label on it, tried to remove the label, caused a tiny amount of damage, I removed the rest with glue remover etc.  So it looks fine from about 9 inches away. Strangely I found a receipt for both intermediate seals being fitted by SJ in June 2016 and they patched up the header, already the outer covering had fallen off these seals revealing the foamy core - on both sides. I had assumed that they were original! Hopefully these newly made ones are better. I may get the rear falling seals later, the A post seals seem fine.

Interesting to read the link, so its not an S2 thing but more related to the M8161 changes that I had read about?

So I will have to explain to the guy doing the hood about the changeover. For when he gets anymore. So maybe up until now he has only had older Elans in.

If you are desperate for seals, look no further than Jamie the Seal on LEC who is a magician at making better seals out of rubber.

I have his A pillar rubber seals on my NMY and the all in one A pillar/windscreen header seal on the Black Beast. I may also have some of Jamie's intermediate seals on on of the M100's

I also have his McLaren windscreen wiper conversion on the NMY

elan m100 normally aspirated 1990  £16800

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354401775989

They only made 127 of these and I’ve never seen another n/a about. So priced accordingly as this will run forever in the right hands and will be worth £50,000+ within a decade.

Spud as in Dave Eds. Where are you Dave? Was K914 UBA yours? I'm sure you had a KUBA???

Not sure Rambo but looks very nice, I do like the yellow SE seats with matching yellow carpets. 🙂

Me too.

My 1st M100 was in Collapso Red with matching red carpets and grey/black seats with red stripes. That looked good too. You nay remember it from those great LEC Donington days??

I used to enjoy the Donington days and must go up the loft and post some of the many photos I used to take. I’ve never owned a yellow one but it’s the colour I do fancy next.

I agree the red ones with matching seats and carpets are equally as attractive. What I do know is if I don’t buy one in the next year or so then they will probably creep into five figures for even tired cars. 🫤🙂

Do or do not, there is no try!

Those Donington days were the pinnacle of LEC. Weren't they just fantastic? Castle Combe is still good but not a patch on Dony.

The Collapso Red was always my favourite color/spec.

NMY is a close 2nd, hence why I have one. I think it gets more attention than even my red one did.

My black one, despite being in VGC, gets virtually no admiring glances, except from Goths 🤣

not up for lucky the basket case then - a step (or several) too far.

Think I'd prefer a tomato ketchup one over custard.

Definitely not Keith even at £500, it’s a breaker as I see it. NMY is really nice but does fade so not easy finding a good one.

I have nearly bought a couple yellow S2’s over the years but both weren’t as described on viewing so slipped through the net. A red one is my close second or even white with the red carpets and seat inserts looks good.

Just seen a few comments on LEC  about that one. Might be worth that in 2099 allowing for inflation.

In the meantime back on planet earth, my S2 is back from the trimmers with a new hood.

So that was your car in the article then Dave? I thought the reg. no. was familiar 😉

PS The guy behind the wheel looks nothing like you

That was Dave T having 15 minutes of fame at and around Snetterton where the article was shot. He needed cheering up as he was having a tough time with his health, so I got C and SC to agree to him doing the driving.

Dave.

My old N/A is on eBay at a £3k start price. I put a new clutch in this car.

Nice to see it’s still going 🙂

Its made it up to Lancashire, if it was a lot more local then who knows. As an NA it must be worth getting on for £50k in a few years...based on the other NA - whose bodywork looks a little tired.

I’ve not seen it since being sold so happy it’s still out and about, it wasn’t a bad car, it had been painted a slightly darker green but good enough job and cleaned up well. I think I repaired the wishbones as well from memory although that could have been the SE afterwards.
As you say it’s certainly travelled up the country from Plymouth and had a fair bit spent on it so someone should get a decent car for potentially sensible money. 🙂
