Pugwash
Looks like £4k difference to V6.
simonb
Shame the odd extra colour did not appear, orderable 08/04/22 You can get the coloured bit on the steering wheel on the i4 (although £400 would buy many rolls of insulation tape Edited March 16 by simonb
tailslides
Beat me to it £71.995 for the I4 in the same configuration as my V6
Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted March 16 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 16 Winter 2023 😳 Clues are already there for a far nimbler car that must be lighter - 0-60 time is faster with 40bhp less and more torque in the first edition configuration. Looking forward to seeing what the figures are like when they start wringing some more power out of that incredibly tuneable unit. 2 Quote Only here once
exeterjeep
So what happened to the launch price of £60k, that would have created a load on interest in the car at the time, but now - have costs gone up that much, or will there be a 'cheap' one even later on.
Gold FFM DaveC72 Posted March 16 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 16 I'm guessing that will be the base i4... I'm OK with the premium for a FE as it has all the shopping I would have added anyway. And before the pile on - it will be my daily, Take my money. Take it now!
Denno
Be amazed if they can keep the i4 at £60k by winter 2023 but even if they do they’ll claw it back with higher cost on the options surely. Should really announce the price of the options now though so that people can choose whether or not to pay the premium for the F.E or not. Yannis
I don't see any option for LSD diff for the I4, is it gonna be available as an option? Is the standard one an open differential for I4?
Gold FFM DaveC72 Posted March 16 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 16 No LSD with automatics. Always been the way.
gregs24
Doesn't have to be though. New engine and transmission for Lotus.
Jack Stone
FWIW when I spoke about the Emira to Steve Cropley at Brooklands earlier this month, he said the I4 was "the one to get" (he's recently taken an A110 which of course is auto only). Anyway it was reassuring as I4 was already my choice when I make the jump... 1 1 Quote But remember one thing: don't lose your head to a woman that'll spend your bread: Lotus Turbo Esprit (89-11); Lotus Esprit GT3 (12-14): Lotus Evora S (14-17); Lotus Esprit V8 SE "UK Last 15" (18-...) simonb
£72K for the first edition, or wait a few months for the £60K car with an extended palette of new paints available exclusively on the entry level versions of both the Emira and Emira V6 Not convinced they have thought this one through
Gold FFM MJON Posted March 16 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 16 Really pleasantly surprised that they are still managing to hold the original published price here. Can’t see and wouldn’t expect them to continue holding this for long. Someone must have kidnapped their FD 🤐
390ja
I had a feeling the i4 might be close on performance since I heard the subframe was steel on the v6 and ally on the i4. Didn’t think it would turn out like that though. There are going to be some very serious i4’s when people, (or lotus..) tinker with them.

Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted March 16 Gold FFM Report Share Posted March 16 Anyone spot the clue to the potential that’s coming. It is the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine homologated for road use (up to 208bhp / litre), widely regarded as the world’s best i4 unit and has an enviable reputation for reliability. Mctaff
I imagine the manual V6 has got to be slower than the auto, and no figures are formally published yet... do you think we'll see a V6 auto that's a little faster than the i4, and the manual similar or a little slower?
E1M2I3R4A
Do the i4 and V6 first editions come with the same options? Wondering why i4 is £12k over base and V6 £11k over base. Or have I just got my sums wrong?
Mctaff
I noticed that too.... also the i4 has an auto box which is a 2k addition on the v6 edit: mind you thats got nothing to do with the price difference between base and FE 🤪 Edited March 16 by Mctaff
Denno
Really need to see the options price list on the base car to see what I’d realistically be paying for what I’d actually want to spec! I’d estimate it would be under £70k but would be nice to be able to make an informed decision. Lotus seem very reluctant to give us all the information we should have by now to make the choice. cobwatch
The i4 has huge potential. Renntech released details of a 592hp (600ps), upgrade a while ago. No internal changes to the engine but modifications to the exhaust and turbo. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/renntech-tunes-mercedes-amg-a-45-s-4matic-to-600-ps-140282.html
