vs Cayman GT4 RS - Competition?

In the early Emira photos... The bhp number displayed was  481hp. I don't think it was a mistake,  Lotus can get these number either with The V6 or the i4.

The Emira GT4XX is also going to be way lighter, however it is still some time away into the future, don't hold your breath.

Oh that old thing. The source of much disappointment when the official I4 power output of 360 bhp was announced. Clearly the displays are mocked-up for that unmanned pre-launch studio photo. As you say 481 bhp could potentially happen, but not for some time. Having seen how long it took Lotus to even get an I4 to drive under its own power, I wouldn’t read too much into that old photo.

360hp in europe, 400 in China, I dont think it will be any surprise when bigger number alternatives appear.  Whilst there may be a £60K base version, I am sure Lotus would prefer to chip the engine and charge £80K

In fact I have just formulated a possible explanation. The studio image shows an engine approaching the top of the rev range and an indicated instantaneous power output of 481 bhp. Let’s say Lotus knew all along that the I4 would initially be 360 bhp. The details get passed on down the line to the person tasked with mocking up the screens. However, somehow things get lost in translation and the 360 bhp becomes 360 kW. That equates to 483 bhp or 489 PS. Consequently they shave a little off as it’s not quite peak revs and settle on 481 bhp. The image gets OK’d and the rest is internet history. It sounds silly, but most Lotus Cars press releases tend to have some kind of error in them.

Really, I thought it was 360 hp everywhere for the time-being at least?
