Best not come to Devon, often more dogs in pubs than humans😂😂 I agree re squawking kids unless they are a baby as they really can't help it or don't know any better. The sad thing is it is probably the middle class family, with the uncontrolled kids running around and squawking who also have brought the dog as it is part of the family too! Entitlement is strong in today's middle classes who seem to want everything apart from taking responsibility. Never had a problem with our kids in a restaurant, only ever got compliments, as they were brought up with some discipline and taught what was right and what was not. Unlike today's "parents" who seem to think it is all about negotiating with little Alasdair or Chelsea. They're bloody kids, not UN peacekeepers, so no need to negotiate, just make sure they know how to behave whether in a supermarket, a pub/restaurant or anywhere else. However Danny, I do love how people like to deflect from an issue and push it somewhere else. That seems to be all to common these days too as it allows one to avoid the question/reality. andydclements
I did arrange to meet a friend for a meal and knowing she was likely to have her dog I arranged it to be at a pub where they split the restaurant, upstairs = no dogs, downstairs= dogs allowed, and they split clientele accordingly, if you don't want to bring a dog they assume upstairs. To be fair, that's a pub that is on the coast (the carpark leads to the beach) and they market themselves for dog walkers etc.

Best not come to Devon, often more dogs in pubs than humans😂😂 I was thinking along the same lines. You could replace 'dog' with 'kid' in most if not all of the annoying incidences. And I for one prefer dogs or cats to kids. Working at the animal shelter surrounded by cats has a very soothing effect on me, being in a place with kids gets my nerves up pretty quickly. But to each his own. 😉 Filip 3 Quote I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted April 17 Gold FFM Report Share Posted April 17 You can eat dogs and cats, but not kids. In fact given there are some 12m dogs and 12m cats in the UK you could help the planet and cure hunger in the UK in one go. Stop people having kids and in a generation the planet will have recovered. Gold FFM Escape Posted April 17 Gold FFM Report Share Posted April 17 I'd rather starve than eat my companion animal. There are also few biological reasons against cannibalism, so 'can' may not be the correct term. Lots of ethical reasons of course, but those can swing either way. And yes, we do have too many pets and that's not only bad for the planet but also not good for a lot of those pets as they never get the care and love they deserve. I have to totally agree with your last sentence! Looking at how nature is flourishing around places like Tsjernobil because there is no human presence, a nuclear war would probably save the planet, just not for us. 😉 2 Quote I have made many mistakes in my life. Gold FFM Escape Posted April 18 Gold FFM Report Share Posted April 18 Same here, quite common outside, theoretically not allowed inside. But small/quiet dogs that remain at the owner's feet are tolerated in many places. Quote I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them. Popular Post PaulCP
Keeping the thread title in mind, MPs (mainly Labour, Lib Dems and the forever moaning SNP) whose only interest in today’s world affairs and the UK’s involvement in them is the so called “partygate” Then we have the media who want to exploit individuals who lost relatives to covid, and who may have been getting over their loss, for their own biased political means. How unethical is our media stooping to something so low 3

Gold FFM C8RKH Posted April 19 Gold FFM Report Share Posted April 19 She was on my flight last night. If I'd have known, I'd have given her some choice words, but she got on last and off first. I only knew she was on as we all had to wait for her to vacate before we could get off. If only she would vacate her spoilt throne. I'm sick of waiting for that even though she has not had a majority for years, not that you'd know it from her entitled antics. 2 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! Popular Post PaulCP
Just seen the headlines in the news about the exiled Prince Harry and his domineering wife. His and hers attendance at the Invictus Games is only serving to devalue the games since they are making the event all about them, giving a further Ophrey style interview (I assume from the headlines, can’t be @rsed to read the articles) and all of the sickening kissing and cuddling in public to attract the press. Time for the deluded Prince to have his title withdrawn. He wants this “ordinary life” so much he should now be shown to be ordinary.

Gold FFM Popular Post C8RKH Posted April 20 Gold FFM Popular Post Report Share Posted April 20 He is suing the Home Office as he no longer gets state protection when in the UK. He wants cake, butter, jam and cream. He wants to be left alone but publicly trade on his status and title to earn filthy cash. He fears for his family's safety yet puts them in danger by telling the world he has no state protection. He's rapidly gone from adored poster boy of the Royal Family to spoilt brat. The only thing that keeps him from being at the bottom of the popularity stakes his is uncles unsavoury news. He should slide off to his adopted new home the US. Drop the titles and get on with his family life. We'll all wish him well and thank him for his service. Job done. Bye bye 3 Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! No exile invitation was extended on our end as the US was, at the time (still is, really), at capacity for entitled, self-absorbed celebrities. It's not like the good citizens of Elba in their time had a choice, either.
