Happy New Year everyone. I would be interested to know how you celebrated. When I was young, New Year’s Eve was the biggest night of the year for pubs and clubs. Entrance would be pre-paid ticket only and sold out well in advance. Clearly I have long since moved on from those days, but it seems that the current younger generation have also changed. We live adjacent to a pub with a mainly younger clientele, but last night it was almost deserted. There was not a single customer car in their car park and I scarcely heard anyone coming and going on foot. I guess they are primarily going round to each other’s houses, probably because it’s cheaper and less hassle. Also older folk and families seem happy to stay at home and blow up a load of fireworks, which just wasn’t a thing when I was a kid.

@LotusLeftLotusRight, we went to the pub as the landlord/lady invited us all down for a private party there. Was an excellent crowd and a lot of fun, first drinks on the house too!

Tucked up by 11pm, out by 8.30am for the Brooklands Museum gathering in the Excel. 

Happy New Year to all and especially @Bibs for bringing us TLF and keeping the show on the road. I'm sure TLF will explode with new Emira members in 2023 and they'll all be very welcome and we should all ensure they can enjoy the forum as much as we all do.

Can't set off fireworks here. Banned.

I'm old enough now that New Year is generally seen in with my looking at the back of my eyelids.

As it was in this year 2022~2023. 😴
