I'm in the same predicament as you atm.... The stainless steel ones are marketed as saying that they last longer because the alloys they use in the metal make the steel less liable to oxidise even at high temperatures. I don't know whether this is true or just some advertising clap-trap. I guess it depends on whether you want to spend the extra money or not B)

Can't help on the SS Manifold. I bought the standard gizmo from SW Lotus.

Went on okay, and is supposedly made from a different alloy so as to last longer. :)

My original manifold was the stronger (improved ) Lotus one - which only lasted 40,000 miles :)

Here's the one that was recently put on.

stainless steel transfers/radiates heat slower than carbon steel, so the heat will be carried out the exhaust gasses, as opposed to heating up the surrounding car parts. you can also chrome plate your stock manifold for the same benefits.

I got the same one as Simon.

The SS manifolds listed are for the N/A engines i think.

I'm not sure if Simon can confirm, but as he, myself and another guy all had their

manifolds ordered and fitted by Steve Williams at the same time, i 'think' we all

got a good price on the manifold from SW Sportscars? About
